Squadrons in the 7th Asian Airwing

The Asian Airwing was formed with the primary intention to allow fans and fan squadrons from across the continent to meet with one another, and to serve as a primary point of information gathering about Space: Above and Beyond.

Before there was the Asian Airwing to come under, the fan squadrons in the region operated by themselves. In some ways, they still will, because some things are best done on a smaller scale, nationally. But, under the Airwing, it will now be possible to coordinate and organize larger, more complex projects that can involve people all over the continent.

Also, we offer the option for fans who do not yet have squadrons to join us. They will come under the Airwing, and we hope that as they interact more and find someone from their own country or region, they might then form their own squadrons to coordinate activities somewhere closer to home.

At the moment, there are 2 national squadrons which have been formed. Having the bulk of the Airwing's members, they now form the backbone of the Airwing. This does not preclude the participation of other fans, however. Anyone is welcome to join the Officers in the Mess. And if you think that you might like to contribute and participate in the decision-making, please do let us know. We are always welcoming new blood in the ranks.

Asian Squadrons

Singapore -- 41st Wild Furies [Res Ipsa Loquitor]

The 41st Commando Squadron is a Singapore-based Space: Above and Beyond fan club. The mission of the 41st is to promote S:AAB and to provide fans of the show with a place to obtain information, share opinions, and communicate with other S:AAB fans worldwide.

Malaysia -- 88th Firebirds [ The Spirit Lives On]

The 88th Firebirds is the national Space:Above and Beyond fan squadron of Malaysia. Our page and FAQ will tell you the bulk of what you need to know about us. But in essence, we serve as a forum for the fans in the country, and beyond, to meet, explore similar interests and to celebrate a brilliant series!

These are the only two fan squadrons in Asia todate. Now, with the formation of the 7th Asian Airwing, we hope that more will be formed, to reflect the interest of the fans in the region.
