HISTORY
Throughout the late 1980s Fantasimulation Associates Corporation (FASA), produced a role-playing game entitled Star Trek: The Role Playing Game, and a wide variety of modules and manuals besides, designed to support the game they created. I must admit, I was one of its seemingly few fans, and was disappointed when its production was cancelled.
Nevertheless, the one item in particular I admired in this game was the two book set entitled The Orions, whose books are titled seperately above. In my own science-fiction stories, I use a character, Aram Naaa, a Ruddy Orion, and I often refer to The Orions for reference material on determining how an Orion would behave, and for cultural details, in addition to my own specific ideas that I included in the flow of text from FASA material. The FASA material in The Orions was always superior in my judgment, and I wished to use it as the basis of my own additional material. My material consists primarily of additional cultural customs, and clarification on interstellar relations with other races that did not exist materially in the Star Trek genre at the time of The Orions creation, namely the Dominion, and the Cardassians, and to further develop the premise that the Orions as a race would choose to pursue Federation membership. In no way should this be construed as an intention to violate either Paramount or FASA copyrights on Star Trek or their respective specific material related to Star Trek, but rather to reproduce science-fiction oriented material, without supporting graphics or role-playing game mechanics. I have also sought, to the best of my ability, and with reasonable care, to credit all participants who created The Orions book set, or otherwise created supporting material for this website.
Now that legal disclaimers are out of the way, I want to credit all Star Trek fans everywhere: you keep the dream alive.
