Introduction to the World of Erde
Erde is a planet dominated by music. It is not God that causes good to happen, but the Harmonies. Likewise, it is not the Devil that causes evil, but Dissonance. On Erde, it is music that ties everything together, plants and animals, rocks and trees, organic and inorganic ... and what's more is that Erde's intangible fabric of music is one that can manipulated through the use of more music; you could almost call it magic.

This magic can be used in two forms, each with its own uses: darksong, and clearsong. Darksong, for example, is the manipulation of living things or things that were once living, while clearsong deals with inanimate objects. Too much use of darksong, however, has a price; frequent darksong users often suffer from double vision and headaches after each use, ailments that increase in duration and intensity as time goes on.

Although no magic can be wrought by instruments alone, minor feats can be accomplished by the sole use of a song, sung by a sorcerer (singer). Greater magic is usually only possible with the accompaniment of Players with instruments, although it has been know to happen that powerful sorcerers/sorceresses could do them with great effort and the price of extreme exaustrion.

The Books
Each image you see below is a link to the full cover of a book in the Spellsong Cycle, along with its publication information. The pages will eventually include book summaries as well, but I'm still working on that part.

World map of Erde
This map is of the entire continent of Liedwehr, on the planet Erde. It is extremely detailed, and was thus made large (1500 x 1140, 502k) to make every detail clear. Since it is so large, it may take a while to load; in the future, if I get any requests for it, I may make a smaller version. It was taken from the inside cover of The Spellsong War.
