CYCLOPS

Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Real Name: Scott Summers

Powers: Solar-powerd beams of concussive force that eminate uncontrolably from his eyes.

Significant reletives: Corsair(Major Christopher summers, father), Cable(Nathaniel Christopher Askani-son Dayspring Summers, son), Racheal Summers(Phoenix 2, daughter), Jean Grey(Pheonix, wife), Havok(Alex Summers, brother), and there are rumors about a third summers brother.

Scott Summers was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He lead a decent life up until the age of about 7, when his parents were supposedly killed in a plane crash. Scott, along with his brother Alex, were saved by using the last parachute, but it still didn't prevent Scott from getting a major blow to the noggin. The two were submited to a desolete and creepy orphanage (secretly run by Mr. Sinister). Alex, being a cute little four year old, was adopted imediatly, but Scott was never adopted. While at the orphanage, Scott made only one friend, Nethaniel, who was actualy Mr. Sinister in disguise. Scotts powers developed, but he found that he had no control over these concussive eye-beams. Luckiliy, a Scotts physician was able to deduce that a pair of glasses made from ruby quartz could hold the beams back.

One day when he was about 17, Scott (looking like a doofus, he was wearing a sweater and a bow tie... in the SUMMER!...) saw an air-conditioning vent about to fall on some civilians, so he blasted it. But then he got accused of causing it to drop, and soon a mob was in his heels. He was saved by the villanous Jack Winters, who had dimond hands, and was planning to steal radioactive isotopes to encease his whole body in diamond. He convinces Scott to help him, but in steps Proffesor X, some bald guy in a wheelchair. He battles "Jack-o-Diamonds"(as the villain now refers to himself as), and convinces Scott to help. The villian, having achieved his goal, struggles against Scotts beams and the Proffesors mind bolts, until he is destroyed. Scott then agreed to be the proffesors first X-Man.

And it's been a thrill ride ever since. From winning Jeans heart over the others to commanding his new friends against Magneto and the brotherhood of mutants, he even found his long-lost brother, Alex, who was displaying mutant powers and was being used by the Living Pharaoh (Alex was rescued, of course), there was nothing he couldn't handle. That is, until Krakoa captured him and the rest of the team. Krakoa set Cyclops loose knowing that Proffesor X would bring more mutants if he thought the others were still alive(which they were). You see, Krakoa is a living island who feeds on mutagetic energies(he eats mutants). When the rest of the team left after the rescue, Cyclops stayed behind to train the new X-Men, Consisting of Banshee, Storm, Colosus, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Thunderbird(who, incidently, died two issues later).

Cyclops was struck more personal blows(lossing a teamate in combat didn't happen much in those days) when Jean Grey (Marvel Girl) started exibiting strange new powers after the shuttle incident(See Jean Grey/Marvel Girl/Pheonix I), and it turned out that she had apparently been "possesed" by the entity known as the Pheonix. He also finds out his father is still alive and leads a band of Space-Pirates called the Star-Jammers, and that is mother died in a Shi'ar torture chamber. After several months, the Pheonix entity goes insane due to the manipulations of Mastermind, who is a member of the Hellfire Clubs' inner circle(A collection of wealthy and powerful mutants), and the Pheonix's thirst for human emotion(especialy those of hate, anger, etc...) drive it towards more... evil tendancies. It realizes what it is doing is wrong, so it commits suicide, leaving everyone to believe that Jean Grey is dead. Cyclops then leaves the team, grief-sticken.

His leave doen't last long, however, when Magneto returns and threatens the world. In the o-so-famous issue 150, Mags Sinks a russian nuclear submarine with all hands on board, destroys a village in Siberia with a volcano, and almost kills Sprite. Scott stays on the team, only because they're so pathetic without him.

This is where the summers family history takes a yucky turn. Scott, visiting his grandparents in Alaske, meets Madilyne Prior, an exact look alike of Jean Grey. The two then get married. Then, Racheal Summers, a teenager from a parrelel futer with the Pheonix powers, arives in town. Problem one: She's supposedly the product of Scott and Jean. Problem two: Jean is dead. Problem three: Jean is revieled to be alive(but in suspended animation), and is revived. By this time, Scott and Mads had a child, Nathaniel Cristopher Summers. Madyleni turns out to be a clone of Jean created by Mr. Sinister, to produce a potentialy VERY powerful mutant. Anyway, Mads goes... mad, takes Nate and tries to sacrifice him to goblins(?), only to have her ass whupped by the X-Men and the newley formed X-Factor, consisting of the original five X-Men. Then Apocalypse gives Nate the flu, only this flu is in the form of a techno-organic organism which slowley converts its victim into a lifeless robot (it's called the Techno-Organic Virus, or T.O. for short). Nate is taken by the Mother-Askani(Who is actually an 80-year-old Racheal Summers who will eventualy travel to the futer[where Apocalypse rules the world] to form the Askani, a league of X-Men 2000 years in the futer)to try and cure him. See Cable/Nathaniel Christopher Askani-son Dayspring Summers for more on this story.

Where was I? Oh, well, after a few more adventures, The X-Men get captured by the Shadow King, so it's X-Force to the rescue. And just as Cyke, Jean, Warren, Hank, and Bobby had been rescued years earlier from Krakoa by these chumps, they returned the favor and kicked SKs telepathic ass back to the Astral Plane (A sub-plane of existance that the telepaths use as a sort of "internet" that connects them to the rest of the minds on the planet). Shortly afterwards, X-Factor dissbanded to re-join the X-Men. But now there were so many members. Cyclops, Jean, Archangel, Iceman, Beast, Proffesor X, Storm, Wolverine, Jubilee, Psilocke, Gambit, Rouge, Forge, Banshee, Colosus, and Bishop. UGH! So Proffesor X split the team into two groups, The Blue team(which occupied "X-Men") and the Gold team (whose exploits were captured in "Uncanny X-Men"). Scott lead the Blue team, consisting of Wolverine, Jubilee, Beast, Psilocke, Gambit, and Rouge. The gold team was headed by Storm, and included Archangel, Iceman, Colosus, Bishop, and Jean, with Banshee as a reserve member, and Forge took off to join the new X-Factor. This team formation didn't last very long. After about a year or so, (in X-Men continuity), Colosus joined up with Magneto's Acolytes and Wolverine had to take time off from injuries sustained all during "Fatal attractions"; Cyclops and Jean got married and went off on a honeymoon(in which they spent 12 years 2000 years in the futer to raise Nathan Summers(who would become Cable, and didn't even know that "Slym" and "Redd" were really Scott and Jean, respectivly, because they were in different bodies); Archangel and Psylocke started going out and were never around; Jubilee went off to join Generation X; and so anyone who was in the mansion at the time of a threat was considered to be on THE team.

After the Honeymoon(which in "reality" only took two weeks) Scott and Jean ran Knee-deep into Phalanx, but along with Wolverine and Cable, kicked thier colective asses and saved the X-Men. Cyclops hasn't done much since then, but shined durring "Onslaught", Baing only one of two people that could hurt Onslaught (the other being the Hulk in "stupid-savage mode"), proving he has what it takes. He didn't do much during "Operation: Zero Tolerance", Except get his butt whupped. Oh, and he had a bomb implanted in his chest, which Beast and Cecilia Reyes were able to remove, despite the fact that they didn't have all that fancy Shi'ar equiptment(Bastion cleaned them out, See "Operation: Zero Tolerance" for details). So Scott and Jean went up to Alaska to relax, only to have to defend a small town being attacked by crows. And that's where we currently stand.
