~*~Learn To Sim~*~

The purpose of simming is to allow all people to create a character and live it, to act out the movies. It's a whole different world that you can enter, leave, and live vicariously through.

~*~How things work~*~

It is 100% your own responsibility to create a history, a physical description, and a personality for your character. The chatroom is considered real contact. In a chatroom you can actually talk to people, touch them, see them. Instant messengers of any kind except AOL (Yahoo, Paltalk, etc.) are representative of comlinks. Just like a comlink, these instant messengers represent ONLY a voice, so on Yahoo and the others you can NOT express actions. The AOL internet instant messenger is a holographic transmission, (think Sio Bibble: "The death toll is catastrophic..."), so when using the AOL instant messenger you ARE permitted to type actions, just not ones directed at other people. For example, a hologram can not reach out to grab someon's hand. Understand? E-mails are written messages or letters.

~*~Rules of Simming~*~

Typing:

Actions must be expressed in such manor:

::looks at the Queen::
It is mandated that only one action occupy a line of text:
::looks at the Queen::
::walks over to her::

Moding: A mode is one of the following:

An impossible action.
For example, if you say ::flies 300 feet into the air:: you have moded. It is impossible! The ONLY exception to this is if you happen to be simming a character that has specific powers, and has the ability to do the impossible action.
More than one action in one line.
::runs over to the couch and jumps over it:: is a mode because there are two actions in the one line. It should say ::Runs over to the couch::
::jumps over to it::
Posting what happens to others.
If you are fighting in the room, and you have just typed ::swings at *so and so's* head:: it is a mode if you follow that with ::cuts *so and so's* lip::. You may NOT say what happens to others, and others may not say what happens to you. The correct thing to type is ::swings at *so and so's* head:: and then type ((POST)) exactly like that. ((POST)) tells the other person that you have just attacked them and they need to respond.
Etiquette:

It is required of Jedi Knights to be respectful of everyone. This is not required of Sith Lords. In other words, you must play your part accurately. It is required of all that, if simming in The Queen's Guild that the Queen be recognized as the founder of the Guild and that all generally respect her status. There is nothing against fights, except that moding is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN! All problems should be reported to the Queen so that she may deal with them personally.

*NOTE* Be very careful to answer every question EXACTLY where it is asked. For example, the first question asks for your character name and IRL email address. It is very important that both pieces of imformation are included in that one area to type. Your email address is especially important because without it I am unable to contact you about the guild. ALL INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE REJECTED!!!
