Gangrel Politics

The other clans think that just because we travel the lands rather than live in some smog ridden city that we don't have any sway in politics. They're wrong. True, most Gangrel do not wish to engage in such debates, but there are some who do. For those wishing to engages in politics, here are a few tips.

1) If one is to play the game, one must know the enemy. In this case, the Ventrue, Toreador, and Tremere are of the worst kind. One might even consider a Brujah or Malkavian to be an ally here. The Ventrue and Tremere are wary of anything which desires to have any form of control. A Toreador has too much influence in the world of the kine. It would be very wise to keep away from these clans. Try to come across leaders who are Brujah or Malkavian if you can.

2) Make allies with the Nosferatu. They are the holders of knowledge in the city, and can bear quite potent secrets if given half the chance to say them. A prince will be more likely to leave you alone if you hold a dark secret from his past. The local animals may be able to help you pick up this very same information.

3) Don't forget our brethren the Lupines. Though they are not as friendly as they once were, they are still our allies. We can use this to our advantage. Having a pack of Garou at our side will do wonders when our enemies try to foil our plotting.

4) While the 'noble' clans are trying to control the leaders, they leave out their own undoing. The masses have the power of numbers when it comes to a conflict. Try to make allies with the patrolling police, the citizens, and the media. Nothing hurts a Ventrue more than when his plans are foiled by patrolmen and newscasters who have wondered into the wrong place at the right time. This would require having some inside information though. That shouldn't be a problem if you read above.

5) Another way to go is to just become friends with your enemy. 'You must keep you friends close, but your enemies closer' is a common saying these days. Become an enforcer or bodyguard for a Primogen or Prince. Protect them long enough to get information. Plot another enemy against the one you are protecting (possibly even striking up a deal). When things start to get dangerous, back out and watch your enemies fight each other.

Jacob, 8th Gen. Gangrel.
