Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and their famous crew released a television show in 1970 called UFO. The show was supposed to take place in the not too distant future of 1980. The show's premise was that alien humanoids were invading the Earth and stealing people and or body parts to save their own race. These invasions were discovered by the military units of several countries and a Top Secret plan was put into effect.
S.H.A.D.O. (Secret Headquarters, Alien Defense Organization), a world wide organization based in London Engalnd, was created. The main Headquarters is based underneath the Harrington-Straker Film Studios. This main headquarters is used to control the Earth's defenses across the world, and even in outer-space.
There are many lines of defense starting with S.I.D. (Space Intruder detector). SID is stationed in orbit around the Earth and can detect UFO's from a great distance. This provides Moonbase with an advanced warning system that can launch the second line of defense, the interceptors.
The Interceptors are hidden in hangars beneath the Moon's surface. The Interceptors carry only one missile each, and they have only one chance at destroying the enemy.
The third line of defense is actually based under the sea and is called "Skydiver". Skydiver is a submarine that can launch a jet that is docked on the bow of the subamarine. The jet called "Sky1" is launched from a 45 degree angle and is armed with rockets and cannons.
The last line of defense is the ground force. These vehicles are called "Mobiles". They have tank like tracks on them and can be deployed rapidly from SSt's (Super Sonic Transports). The mobiles are armed with machine cannons and rockets.
