Star Trek: The Movies

Nearly 35 years ago Gene Rodenberry had a vision and turned it into a reality. He took a crew of people, put them into a ship and sent them off to explore the galaxy. Now that crew has become legendary and inspired a new generation of explorers. Sit back, relax and check out the logs of both generations exploits below.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture
As an enormous energy cloud approaches Earth it destroys everything it it's path. The Enterprise is the only Starship within range to try and stop it. Admiral James T. Kirk convinces Starfleet to give Command of the Enterprise back to him and reduce it's current Captain, William Decker to Commander for this mission. All of the ships original bridge crew, including Mr. Scott and Dr. McCoy are aboard when they leave Space Dock. Mr. Spock joins the crew on it's way to intercept the cloud.

When they reach the cloud a tractor beam pulls the ship inside, then a plasma probe investigates the bridge, disintegrating Lt. Ilia. Soon after, she reappers aboard the ship as a mechanical being, V'ger's probe and voice. They crew learns through discussions with the Ilia probe and with a brief mind-meld Spock had with V'ger that it is a living machine and it's sole purpose is to return to Earth and join with it's creator.

When they arrive at Earth V'ger transmits a binary code, but gets no reply. Ilia tells them that Earth's biological infestation is interfering with the response from the creator and in a few minutes V'ger will destroy all the carbon based lifeforms on the planet. In an effort to save Earth and the crew of the Enterprise Kirk tells her that he knows why the creator has not responded, but will only tell V'ger himself why, so she must take him to V'ger. She agrees and takes them to the center structure where and old space probe from Earth's past sits.

Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan
The U.S.S. Reliant orbits around Ceti Alpha VI searching for a dead planet to test the Genesis Project on. The project, led by Dr. Carol Marcus and her son David has created a device that that can transform a dead planet into one able to sustain life in only a few minutes. Captain Terrell and his first Officer Chekov beam down to the surface to investigate an anomoulas lifeform reading. On the surface they discover a ship and when Chekov learns the name of the ship he urges Terrell to leave quickly. Before they can beam up from the surface they are captured by Khan and his group. One year after Kirk left him and his crew on Ceti Alpha V, in the episode "Space Seed" Ceti Alpha VI exploded and pushed Ceti Alpha V into a wider orbit, destroying all indigenous life on it. Consumed with revenge against Kirk, Khan puts sluglike creatures in Terrell and Chekov's ears to control them. With their help he takes over the Reliant and strands it's crew on the surface. He soon learns of the Genesis Project and goes after it.

Admiral Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise are on a training mission with a group of cadets when he receives a distress call from Carol Marcus. The Reliant had signled her and her science group on Regula 1 that they had orders from Starfleet to seize control of the Genesis Project and she wants to know why he gave the order. Kirk takes command of the ship and heads for Regula to find out what is going on. When they arrive they are attacked by the Reliant and barely escape behind Regula. Kirk, McCoy, and Lt. Saavik beam over to Regula 1 with a security crew. They find all the scientist dead, Terrell and Chekov locked in a closet, and the Genesis device missing. They search the station and learn that someone has beamed down "inside" the planet, so they follow them. They find Carol Marcus, the Genesis Device and her son David, who is also Kirk's son from a past relationship.

Khan steals the Genesis device and tries to finish off the Enterprise Out of options, Kirk takes the ship into the Mutara Nebula and dares Khan to follow him. The ships are evenly matched inside the nebula due to the distortions which render sensors and sheilds inactive. Kirks disables the Reliant, but Khan refuses to give up and activates the Genesis device to detonate. In four minutes the Reliant will explode and the Enterprise is without the Warp drive it needs to get to a safe distance.

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock
Upon returning to Earth after their battle with Khan and the loss of their friend and crew member Spock, Kirk is approached by Spock's father, Ambassador Sarek. Sarek demands to know why Kirk did not bring Spocks body to Vulcan. When a Vulcan knows he or she is going to die they place their katra into another person, so that all their knowledge and experiences can be preserved. Sarek insists that Spock would have found a way to do it, so he and Kirk go through the video records of Spock's last moments before entering the radiated chamber. They discover that his katra is inside McCoy's body and that there is a chance to save Spock if they go to the Genesis Planet.

Starfleet has quarantined the entire area and are going to decommission the Enterprise so Kirk and the rest of the crew steal her from spacedock and heads to the forbidden planet anyway.

A Klingon Captain named Kruge learns about Genesis and it's possibilty as a weapon and swears he will have it. He sets his Bird of Prey on course for the Genesis planet where they destroy the science vessel Grissom, stranding, David Marcus, Lt. Saavik, and Spock. After David and Saavik had beamed down the found Spock's coffin empty and a young Vulcan boy. They soon learn that as the unstable planet ages so does Spock and he will die if they do not get him off the planet.

When Kirk and the Enterprise arrive the Klingons have already taken David and the others hostage and threaten to kill them one by one unless Kirk surrenders and hands over the Genesis Plans. To prove to Kirk he is not bluffing he has one of his officers kill Kirk's son David. Still not repaired from it's battle with Khan the Enterprise and are unable to fight the Klingon ship, so Kirks invites them over to the Enterpirse and sets the auto-destruct before beaming down to the planet. When the Enterprise explodes it takes most of the Klingon crew with it and leaves Kirk and the rest stranded on the planet surface.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
After a three month exile on Vulcan, Kirk and the rest of the Enterprise crew decide to go back to Earth in their captured Klingon vessel which they named the HMS Bounty, and face charges brought against them when they stole the now destroyed Enterprise to go rescue Spock.

While the crew prepare to leave Vulcan an unidentified probe approahes Earth overloading the powers sources of everything in it's path. It is emitting sounds directed at Earth's oceans and the power coming from the probe is endangering all life on Earth. The Bounty pick up a planetary distress signal from Earth warning all ships to avoid the planet at all costs. Spock analizes the sounds coming from the probe and discover that they are the songs of Humpback whales and there is no way the probe will get the response it is waiting for unless they travel back in time and bring Humpback whales with them to the present.

Kirk orders Spock to make calulations for time travel and the crew travel back to the late 20th century. Kirk and Spock soon find a pair of Humpbacks at the Cetacean Institute in San Francisco, but will lose them if they do not act quickly. They find an ally by the name of Gillian Taylor and she tells them the whales are to be shipped out the next day and released into the wild.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
While Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are enjoying shore leave in Yosemite Park and the other senior staff members are enjoying their leave elsewhere a terrorist group invades the planet of Nimbus III. Known as the planet of galactic peace and the only place in the galaxy the Klingons, Romulans, and the Federation have ambassadors from each government working together.

Even though the Enterprise 1701-A is not completely operational, no transporters, doors barely working, and only contains a small crew, Starfleet needs it's most experienced Captain. Kirk and the rest of the senior staff are called back from shore leave and set course for Nimbus III.

Klaa, the Captain of a Klingon Bird of Prey hears that Kirk is heading for Nimbus III and is tired of shooting a space garbage, decides to follow him. He thinks that if he destroys the Enterprise and kills Kirk he will become the greatest warrior in the galaxy.

When Kirk and the crew arrive at Nimbus III and shuttle down they learn that the hastages have joined sides with their captor and the Enterprise crew have become hostages as well. After Kirk, McCoy, and Spock are thrown into the brig, Spock informs them that the leader of the terrorists group, Sybok, is Spocks half brother. Sybok staged the attack on Nimbus III in order to get a starship to come. He claims he had a vision from God and sets course for the center of the galaxy believing God is waiting there fo him.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
The Klingon mining moon, Praxis, explodes (due to over mining and poor safety precautions) leaving the Klingon Empire with roughly 50 years of life left to it. Spock arranges a summit with Chancellor Gorkon and volunteers the Enterprise to escort Gorkon safely to the peace conference.

After arriving at the rendezvous and having dinner with Gorkon and his crew the Enterprise suddenly appears to fire torpedoes at the Chancellors ship, knocking out it's gravity. Two people beam over to Gorkon's ship wearing gravity boots and assassinate the Chancellor. Kirk immediately surrenders when General Chang prepares to attack the Enterprise and beams over to Gorkon's ship with McCoy to offer their help. McCoy fails to save the Chancellor and Chang arrests he and Kirk.

Spock investigates the attack while Kirk and McCoy are tried for murder by the Klingon government. Spock figures out that the torpedoes did not come from the Enterprise but from a ship that can fire while cloaked. Kirk and McCoy are found guilty and sent to the ice planet of Rura Penthe where those who conspired against the Chancellor arrange a jailbreak in order to get rid of Kirk and McCoy.

After Spock rescues them in the nick of time, he and Kirk find out who all were involved with the assassination and with the help of Captain Sulu, who provides the new location to the rescheduled peace conference, the Enterprise races to save the new Chancellor and Federation President.

Star Trek: Generations
While Kirk, Chekov, and Scotty are guests aboard the Enterprise 1701-B when it makes it's first test run, the Federation receives a distress call from two freighters caught in the Nexus, an energy ribbon. Even though the new Enterprise is not totally space ready, it is the only ship close enough to help. Unprepared for such an event the new Captain turns to Kirk for advice. While saving the ship and rescuing the passengers from the freighters, Kirk is lost and presumed dead.

Seventy-five years later the crew of the Enterprise 1701-D are performing a promotion ceremony for Lt. Worf aboard a sailing ship on the Holodeck. After the ceremony they receive a distress call from a Federation observatory saying they are under attack. TheEnterprise arrives after the attack and rescue the survivors. Among them is an El Aurian physicist named Soran who had also been rescued by the Enterprise B seventy-five years earlier and is obsessed with getting back to the Nexus. He plans to destroy the Enterprise and an entire solar system just to get to it.

With the help of the Klingons Soran kidnaps Geordi and sets course for Veridian III. Picard and the Enterprise follow them in an effort to stop Soran. While Picard beams down to confront Soran after exchanging himself for Geordi, the Enterprise engages in battle with the Klingon ship. Picard fails to stop Soran and is pulled into the Nexus with everyone else. His only hope to change what has happened lies wuithing the Nexus and a legendary captain from the past.

Star Trek: First Contact
Picard is awakened from a nightmare about the Borg by a message from Starfleet. The Borg have attacked one of their colonies and are on their way to Earth. Starfleet prepares a fleet of ships, but orders the Enterprise 1701-E to the Neutral Zone in case the Romulans decided to attack. They have confidence in the new Enterprise but not in it's captain because of him being captured by the Borg several years earlier.

When Picard and the rest of the crew hear the battle over subspace Picard disobeys their orders and sets course for Earth to join the battle. When they arrive most of the fleet has been destroyed and Picard assumes command. They rescue the crew of the damaged Defiant and with Picards knowledge of the Borg the Enterprise and the remainder of the fleet destory the Borg Cube.

A Borg Sphere manages to escape before the Cube explodes and makes a temporal vortex for time travel. The Enterprise follows them to the past to repair what damage they had done. The crew find themselves in the mid twenty-first century with no shields and long range sensors down due to the vortex. They destroy the Sphere as it is attacking Earth and discover they have arrived the day before first contact was made and the Borg were attempting to stop first contact by destorying the base where the first warp ship was to be launched from.

Picard and an away team beam down to investigate the damage done by the Borg. They discover that Zefram Cochran, the creator of the first warp ship, is still alive and the ship sustained minimal damage in the attack. Meanwhile aboard the Enterprise they discover that the Borg beamed over before their ship was destroyed and are trying to take over the ship.
