A 1000 years of peace is suddenly shattered when an evil Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, secretly engineers the occupation of the peaceful planet of Naboo by the Trade Federation. Jedi heroes Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi journey to Naboo to rescue the planet’s brave young leader, Queen Amidala. During their escape, they discover an amazingly gifted nine-year-old slave boy named Anakin Skywalker, strongly attuned to the Force. Qui-Gon introduces Anakin to the path of the Jedi and Queen Amidala returns to Naboo to liberate her planet.

10 years have passed and the Galactic Republic is in turmoil. Count Dooku, a former Jedi, leads a popular Separatist movement that has spilt the Republic and pushed it to the brink of war. Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo, a strong opponent of the war, becomes the target of an assassination attempt. This prompts Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to put her under the protection of the Jedi Knights. Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect Padme, and while sequestered, the two fall in love. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan’s investigations leads to two alarming discoveries: the Jedi have secretly commissioned a clone army and the Separatists are preparing a droid military force of their own. This leads to the outbreak of the CLONE WARS.

The galaxy is weary after 3 long years of war. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi have become legendary heroes in their campaigns against the droid forces of the evil General Grievous. Anakin and his secret wife, Padme Amidala, have been separated for months and he finally reunites with her to learn that she is pregnant. He is plagued by visions of her dying in childbirth, haunting images of a possible future. Anakin is determined to stop her from dying, no matter what the cost. This leads Anakin down a dark path to commit terrible deeds. Obi-Wan Kenobi must face his former apprentice in a ferocious lightsaber duel on the fiery world of Mustafar.

The Jedi Knights have been exterminated and the Empire rules the galaxy with an iron fist. A small group of Rebels have dared to fight back by stealing the secret plans to the Empire's mightiest weapon; the Death Star battle station. The Emperor's most trusted servant, Darth Vader, must find the plans and locate the hidden Rebel base. Princess Leia, a captive Rebel leader, sends out a distress signal that is intercepted by a somple farm boy, Luke Skywalker. Seizing his destiny, Luke takes up the challenge to rescue the princess and help the Rebellion overthrow the Empire, along with such allies as the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, the cocky Han Solo, the loyal Chewbacca and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. After a devestating attack on their ice base on the frozen planet of Hoth, the Rebels are scattered by Imperial pursuit. Luke Skywalker seeks out the mysterious Jedi Master Yoda in the swamps of Dagobah, while Han Solo and Princess Leia outrun the Imperial fleet to the beautiful Cloud City of Bespin. In an attempt to convert Luke to the dark side of the force, the evil Darth Vader lures young Skywalker into a trap. In the midst of a fierce lightsaber duel with the Sith Lord, Luke faces a terrible truth about the Skywalker legacy.

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia must travel to Tatooine to free Han Solo by infiltrating the wretched stronghold of Jabba the Hutt, the galaxy's most loathsom gangster. Reunited, the Rebels team up with tribes of Ewoks to combat the Imperial forces on the moon of Endor. Meanwhile, the Emperor and Darth Vader conspire to turn Luke to the dark side, and young Skywalker is determined to rekindle the spirit of the Jedi within his father. The Galactic Civil War culminates in the ultimate showdown, as the Rebel forces gather to attack the seemingly defenseless and incomplete second Death Star in the battle that will determine the fate of the galaxy.
