Information - 'Invasion : The Dark Wars'
Invasion : The Dark Wars is a series of novels which chronicle the invasion of Earth by an alien race called the 'Trauch', from the beginning of the war, through to the end and its lasting repercussions on humankind. Encompassing more than a century of 'history', the Invasion series follows the lives of a large ensemble of characters, both human and alien, incorporating their successes and failures, loves and losses, lives and deaths.
- The first novel documents the initial invasion of Earth by the technologically eclectic Trauch, following the life of a young soldier named Benjamin Phoenix and his attempts to keep his family safe and his madness curbed whilst juggling a young wife's needs against his enemies - and not all of his enemies originate from another planet.
- The second novel focuses on the homeworld of the Trauch and the human prisoners who plan to escape the death camps of their Alien captors and take the war to a new and more frantic level. Along the way the humans encounter other nations on the Trauch Homeworld; some at war with the Trauch and some far more deadly.
- The third novel begins as the war ends and the captives of the Trauch finally see home soil. The Earth is now much changed; a Global Government is struggling to keep the peace in a world ravaged by death and violence. Some countries still deny the new global yoke and tensions rise as starved and ambitious rebels begin to amass power. Full of politics and intrigue, violence and drama. The fate of the world is entrusted to one small band of covert operatives called Resurrection, with disastrous results for the future...
- The fourth novel documents Resurrection's missions during the first three books.
- Set twenty years after the events in the third novel, book five recounts the trials of Abraham Quesado, a half-human, half-Trauch war orphan, now almost through medical school in a world which still looks upon his kind with fear and loathing. In this technologically ravaged world, good doctors are in sore demand, yet Quesado must battle his way through the odds to gain his licence to practise medicine. And with the sudden presence of unidentified alien ships in the skies of the world, tensions begin to increase until Quesado is faced with the prospect of averting a new war and avoiding his own death and the death of his family...
- Forty years later, in the sixth novel, mankind has finally taken to the stars, joining a federation of alien cultures in a massed front against the new enemy - the lizard like Falkaan. However, when David Stone, a young tactical officer aboard the FCC Inferno tortures and rapes his captain, only to escape his confinement and stalk the ship and its crew, another enemy is discovered - an old enemy who never gives up...the Trauch.
- In the Seventh novel, which continues immediately from the last, the Trauch homeworld is finally discovered and a covert group of operatives, genetically modified to appear non-human, secretly penetrate its atmospheric defenses. What they find is a contradictory peaceful world, completely unlike that in Earth's past experiences, and what begins as a reconnaissance quickly becomes a battle for survival, and, ultimately, another war...
- In the Eighth and final novel, mankind's darkest hour descends with vengeance. Unsupported by the multi-species federation, Earth severs its alliance with them, abandoning the war with the Felkaan and taking the fight once again to the Trauch, while the crew of the new Inferno break an old war hero from a federation prison in one last-ditch effort to smash the Trauch once and for all...only to find him dead by his own hand three days later. Enemies abound, nowhere is safe, and mankind walks the precipice of extinction...
As outlined, Invasion is an ambitious set of epic novels. You can expect action, drama, romance, sci-fi, war, horror, thrills and even humour in the war that spans almost a hundred years; the invasion that leaves no stone unturned. Expect to be captivated...by the DARK WARS
