~The Great (Feast) Hall~

As you pass Through the Great Double Oak Doors into the large area of the Great Hall your eyes are drawn to all the colorful Shields with the Devices of the Members of the Household (All of these Devices are Registered with the S.C.A.) That are hanging on all the Walls. The largest banner is over the Great Fireplace, and that is the banner of House Silver Oak itself. It is hung with a torch on either side and are always kept lit. The Other Great Banners are of the Kingdom of the West and the Principality of Cynagua Which are Hung also with torches on the wall at the end of the Great Table.


Beneath the Great Shield of House Silver Oak is a Large Oaken Plak Carved With the Codes of the House..By Which All Members of the House Try Very Hard to Live Up to.

  8. Generosity-Gives Others the Benefit of Doubt, Does Not Repeat Gossip, Willing to Share Knowledge and Impart Skills and Practice Hospitality According to Ones Own Means.
  9. Restraint-Keep One's Self Control, Speak Softly, and Have the Strength to Keep Calm Under Duress [If You Can't Say Anything Nice, Don't Say Anything At All]!
  10. Courtly Arts-Etiquette and Courtly Address, Dancing, Music, Literature, Games and Heraldry!

This is the Device of the Shire of Vakkerfjell, which is Where House Silver Oak May Be Found. The Shire is in the Process of Changing its name to Ella Loch "Swans Lake" in Gaelic.
