USS Polaris

The second AmbassadorIII-class frigate!

Site always under construction. See the Polaris head a Task Force! The Polaris is one of two prototype AmbassadorIII-class frigates, which were co-designed by Captain Vilfong, Lt Cmdr. Retyl'Roy Q'onas, and Starfleet's R&D Rear Admiral Sheldon. It is 685 meters in overall length, and is about the size of a Galaxy dreadnaught. It has the basic shape of an Ambassador-class, but with 3 type X phaser arrays on top of the saucer section, 2 smaller ones at the place where the engineering hull meets the saucer, 2 on the bottom of the saucer, and 2 on the bottom of the engineering hull. They can be fired simultaneously, but only with most non-essental systems shut down, such as replication, holodecks, and stellar cartography. It has ablative armor, and has as many shield generators as a Galaxy-class explorer, plus a couple extra in the saucer, giving it extra shield strength for its size.
