The Wonderous

We were in Love but in those days

everyone was in hatE Sitting arou

nd doing nothing but eatting anchovies

wondering if wednesday was even

worth it. Only being twisted Can

things be worth it.

somewhere, years ago, the abitity to

know black from black faded away

everything, once shiny, became

dull and tarnished but maybe

if we polish the brass with

a duster made of angel feathers

we could once again see our

reflection. Then everyone could

sit down and we could all share

some chocolate pudding

it was sometime in 1996 in a

small student lounge that we

gathered in small groups

led by the dear eric who sang

songs and let us read poetry

and show off works of art. nice.

but then the bombs fell around

our heads and everyone left

school to pursue other, more

worldly goals such as teaching

monkeys to fly.

This is the eternal walk we

are born into

a brief note by william blake

from Auguries of Innocence

Every night and ervery morn

some to sorrows are born

Every morn and every night

some are born to sweet delight

some are born to sweet delight

some are born to endless night.
