The Past Era

Misc. Inc. is a pre-rifts corporation once known as Genetic Technologies Incorporated. This pre-rifts corporation was once a sub-branch of what was then known as Tex-Am Labs. or Texas-America Laboratories. Later Tex-Am would be unearth by the post-rifts American civilization known as the Coalition States. In the records of Tex-Am Labs. there is information on a once prominate scienctist in their genetics department overseeing the Neo-Human Genome Project. His name was Shaun Jones. head of the Neo-Human Genome project under the Code-Name Matrix. The Neo-Human Genome project was a classified project requested by the United States Government to develop mutant animals and mutant humans, with extraordinary powers. The project was ended prematurely before the project could ever get any real headway. A scandal involving a high ranking member of the Tex-Am Labs. staff was uncovered. The government accused Shaun "Matrix" Jones of improper conduct while experimenting. Denying that they had any knowledge of the fact. Shaun left Tex-Am Labs. very quietly, shocking many of his colleges. Within 2 weeks, he had totally vanished from North America. Two months later, a corporation in Western Sahara appeared. Genetic Technologies Incorporated.

Gene. Tech. Inc. was a failing corporation 3 weeks before about to file for bank-rupticy. Now it was a very strong company. It had only one complex which had not been sold, from the original branches. It originally had a branch in every major country, from the U.S.A. to Britain, to France, to Germany, to even third-world countries. All of it's holdings had been sold except for it's last holdings in W. Sahara. Within 4 months, Gene.Tech.Inc. had created a name for itself in genetic technologies. They had developed a cure for cancer which was like no other "cure" before. Their Cure was through genetic resequencing which had been theorized about but never accomplished.

A year later they began opening their buildings across the globe, they even began construction on a compound in Anartica so they could develop their processes to an even greater degree without Government intrution.

2 years after the finished Anartica Facility was constructed they sent a manned space vessel to Mar's Moon "Phobos" because there was no one else who wanted to use it, since it seemed to be only made of rock and dust. The "Phobos Colony" as it became called was a fully self-sustaining facility. It had been constructed in less than a year and was on-line testing the effects of zero-gravity on the genetic resequencing processes of Gene.Tech.Inc.

The three main complex would have been followed by 7 more complexes if it had not been for the end of what is known as the "Golden Era".

After the Guata-maurta incident almost every country closed their borders. This caused Gene.Tech.Inc. to step-up the production on what became known as their Star-Gazer Class Ships. They knew at the time that they would not have further help from any of the main countries so they decided to become fully self-sustaining.

The space vessels had at first only been scarcely created for exploration of certain areas, such as the one sent to Phobos, and occasional treks into the Asteroid belt. They had still not developed a ship which could travel faster than Mach 5. With the advent that they'd soon have to be completely self-sustained they redesigned their ships for ease of production, and best performance.

Shortly after Gene.Tech.Inc. split into three distinct branches.
