The Gay Side of Me

Along with everything else, I'm a gay man. What that means is that I find myself physically attracted to men rather than women (though there is one I know who could turn anyone straight - she's a good friend).

That does NOT mean anyone is entitled to make fun of me, be prejudiced or bigoted against me, bash me, or anything else they want to. Just because my tastes are different DOES NOT give you the right to call me pariah, evil, or anything like that. That goes for people like Newt Gingrich, Jerry Falwell, Reggie White, Gary Bauer, fred phelps or anyone who thinks I make a wonderful target for hate, bigotry and unequal rights.

You should also notice all these beings (sic) profess to be Christian, and that they're doing the "Christian thing." Well, if this is the "Christian thing," thank goodness I'm Jewish!

Just to remind you, out of every 100 cases of child molestation, 98 are committed by straight people who will hurt someone they love. Fact. Plain and simple.

Each and every one of us is born to be who we are to be. For me, that means I'm a gay man. Plain and simple.

You're NOT going to see any semi-naked pictures here. There are already more than enough (if not too many) sites with these pictures. I don't need to do another one. Also, being gay doesn't mean constantly looking at semi-naked guys.

What people call a gay "lifestyle" to me means that I get up at 7:00 AM, catch a bit of Good Morning America, work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, come home, check the U.S. mail to see if there are any orders for Southern Fried Filk, LLC, check e-mail, eat dinner, see what e-mail has come in for me, check the two science-fiction newsgroups I follow, then go to bed. Now, you tell me what is perverted about that.

There has been a lot going on since I originally put up this page. I now have a memorial page to Matthew Shepard.

One thing I have recently noticed is that all these so-called "gay-change groups" are trying at the same time to get people to believe in their brand of Christianity. Is it me, or are they just trying to do the same thing others tried to do to me nearly 30 years ago, give up my religion? I've not heard of a single "conversion group" that basis itself on Judaism. What does that tell you about them?

On July 6, 1999, an Army soldier was killed by one of his buddies. The killing was motivated by the fact that the soldier killed was (allegedly) gay. If it turns out this was a gay-bashing, then we need to make sure that the Army does the right thing. Click on the banner to connect with a site set up to keep all informed on what's happening.

On June 20, 2000, in response to the usual anti-gay vitriol, the mother of a gay child in Vermont wrote an op-ed piece which will hopefully get people to think. Click here to check it out.
