No God in Good-bye

by Jon Mcfarland

solitude is not shy,
a million memories,
clouding me with ease,
can't wait to love you,
can't wait to feel blue,
bonds made everlasting,
songs not changing,
no closure in the end,
weakness we bend,
pain lies in quiet,
days pass with regret,
we don't sail on,
nothing is gone,
we lie on dedication,
but fall in obsession,
can't feel what's true,
not without you,
time is broken,
moments are stolen,
see not past you,
feelings in me too few,
time with you always,
and an innocent gaze,
beautiful observers,
insides of many colors,
void without these,
want only to please,
to feed you affection,
offer my protection,
from danger within,
wipe off your chin,
lift your eyes to me,
and give you what is free,
but now I'm alone,
scratching at the stone,
waiting in the light,
staying out of sight,
leaving you the shade,
but only partially made,
shade is happy intentions,
longs for those attentions,
classic not to be story,
but try in glory,
cry until the end,
finally to send,
let you fade away,
beauty turned gray,
open book is your pain,
I read through your vein,
and no god in goodbye,
but merely a cry.....
