NO BAGGAGE

by Jon McFarland

the man inside that's never seen,
all those feelings never shown,
buried in a mind so keen

there is no baggage,
no self esteem to be seen,
all emotions locked in a cage

depression is always near,
for there is no smile,
just a tear

there is no baggage,
not a damn thing,
because he lost it all with age

his life is based on a simple thing,
do good or do nothing,
less then perfect isn't acceptable

there is no baggage,
no happiness at all,
only his sadness on the average

the pressure is tight,
he's about to fall,
but he has no care at all

there is no baggage,
no reason to live,
so he's headed to the garbage

another one down the hole,
lost in societies' pressures,
because he can't reach a goal.
