The new Lady Death and Cremator action figures have just landed in your local comic shop.  This action figures serve as the last in the deal between Moore Action Collectible and Chaos Comics.  Look for all future actions figure that feature Chaos Characters to come from Eternal Toys -- Chaos' own/new  toy imprint. 

December will mark the return to comics  by  Maxx creator Sam Kieth.   Image Comics has solicited  the book I to be released in December.  The title of the new by Kieth is  Sam Stories:  Legs.    Will this mark the return to full time comic work  -- no official word as of yet……

It looks as if the premiere date for the much anticipated Avengers animated series on Fox will be pushed back at least a  month .  No actual date has officially been given as of press time……


Barry McCaffrey, director of the White House Office of Drug Control Policy, announced earlier this month that  Spiderman character will be used in a series of anti-drug commercials that will appear on  television, before major movies in theatres, billboards, and in print ads in various major publications across the country.   

DC Direct has announced that it will be going back and producing a  new run of its Wonder Woman, Alfred E. Neuman and Spy  vs. Spy action figures.  The figures should hit your local comic shop store shelves around mid  November.   Mr. S. Barwick , Director of Marketing at DC Comics released the following statement about the decision to produce more figures --  "We've been completely blown away by the incredible response to our DC Direct figures from  both retailers and consumers, and we're thrilled to be able to go back to press on four of the most   popular figures -- Wonder Woman, Alfred E. Neuman and the two Spy vs. Spys -- in time for the  holiday season.".

The New Warriors and Generation X will collide for the first time (since the Warriors return to publishing that is) in New Warriors #5, which ships is scheduled to ship in  December.   Both books are written by Jay Faerber.

Brian Pulido is calling Armageddon "the Chaos version of Crisis on Infinite Earths for the new dark and deadly millennium…."  At the end of this event Chaos Comics universe will be no more as we know it. 

Tom Sherak, chairman of the 20th Domestic Film Group, has announced that "X-Men", the live-action film adaptation of the Marvel comic book, will be released in June 2000. 

The DC Direct figures for Death, Preacher, and Plastic Man have been shipped.  Toy collectors -- happy hunting for the Plastic Man figure -- it actually has stretching arms.

Hasbro, Inc. (the toy company)  has announced on its plan to acquire Wizards of the Coast, publisher of the  wildly popular Magic: The Gathering  card/role playing game.   The deal, worth approximately $325 million, should be completed by the end of September.

Mike Allred  is forming his own  publishing company, AAA Pop Comics. The venture will kick off in January 2000, with the  publication of the first issue of THE ATOMICS,    Allred will however be leaving his Madman Comics series in the capable hands of Dark Horse publishing, but this doesn't mean the two titles will not play off each other or share the same universe.  Allred had this to say about his decision to pursue self publishing ' "My goal is to be as productive as possible, and that meant taking the reigns of my own career and carving my  own path. AAA Comics is my way to   do that. It allows me to set my own schedule and take the burden of  responsibility on my shoulders. I have been inspired by people like Paul Pope  and David Lapham, as well as independent bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, who arecommitted to doing their own art and establishing the venues for it. I don't know why more artists don't do it. Sure, it's a risk, but it's also extremely exciting."

It appears that Marvel's Hulk title will be changing names and creators again.  Marvel Comics has announced that the current Hulk title will revert back to its previous name Incredible Hulk by early next year.  As for t he the current artistic team…….its all about to change again.  After Byrne leaves the book as writer  Jerry Ordway will take over for a  three to four issue stint and then he will be replaced by Paul (Inhumans) Jenkins.   The only constant for the Green Behemoth will be the presence of  Ron Garney  as he will stay on board as series artist.

Brian Augustyn and Humberto Ramos' Crimson is  the subject of Dynamic Forces' first action figure assortment.    The first wave of action figures will contain  Alex (the books hero),  Scarlet X (from the Order of the Red  Hood), Joe (Alex's best friend), and Lisseth (Queen of the Vampires).      Figures should hit stores in November.

Fan favorite Christopher Priest will be taking on the writing chores of yet another book ---- Deadpool.    This man is busy….

Avatar has announced the release of the series fans of  David Quinn and Tim Vigil have been waiting for.  A  all-new FAUST mini-series in full color!  Quinn and Vigil are back and exploring  the deep, dark secrets of their best- known  creation in this all-new full-color series.  Faust: Book of M takes place deep in the  mind of M, ripping open doors that were closed in Faust: Love of the Damned and   Faust / 777 The Wrath: Darkness in Collision.  Look for it in stores now.

The National Parenting Center has given the Pokemon trading card  game its official seal of  approval.  The Center noted the game was suited to kids of all ages……………

DC Direct action figure line will be added the classic Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Black Canary to its line of direct market exclusives --- the set will be available this November/December.
