WELCOME TO OUR CLASS SITE!

Welcome to our class web site.  We have been hard at work during  the Summer II class session -- learning the basics of desktop publishing.

The tool of choice for our class was Microsoft Publisher 98 -- a very versatile desktop publishing program, without the large price tag of industry giants PageMaker or Quark.  Publisher 98 will allow you to do almost everything the other two mentioned above will do -- the plus is that not only do you save a lot of money, but it is integrated within the Microsoft Office work environment that most students already have some exposure to.  Thus creating a more comfortable classroom  environment.

During the course of the class we covered the following areas:

-Program Basics (how to use Microsoft Publisher)
-Layout Concepts (the good, the bad, and the really ugly)
     -How to create an ad
     -How to create a newsletter
     -How to create a brochure
-How to create a web page
-How to publish to the  web (for the world to see)
-Using E-mail/Netscape Communicator to transfer files

This class has done a great job!!!  They all should be very proud of the work they have done.  I want to personally thank them for sticking with  this class -- in reality this  was a incredibly hard and demanding class with lots of info to absorb in a short period of time.  It has been a learning experience for all -- including the instructor.  However, we all stuck with it and this web site and the connecting pages is our semester end project. So what are your waiting for --- please click on the pages listed to the left and visit their sites.
