Notes on Acceptable Sources

First off, I don't want to sound ungrateful, but please stop sending me the following:

The reasons? I can't use the TFU entries because of copyright concerns. The tech specs are available elsewhere on the Web. And I don't think of either as canon.

What is "canon"? The term refers to what sources of material are considered when attempting to obtain a single timeline from one of the more "mainstream" continuities. For example, in Star Trek, none of the novels are considered canon because the information gleaned from them cannot be used to counter information from canon sources, such as the episodes. Canonical status is generally determined from either general agreement from the fans, or by official decree. If Sunbow were to state that the Transformers movie was not a part of the cartoon continuity, or if enough people decided that the movie was too awful to amalgamate into the cartoon universe, it would not be considered canon.

For the purposes of this encyclopedia, I determine what is canon. I try to state in the following lists what I consider canon and what I do not, but if you disagree, feel free to state your case to me. But do not, repeat, DO NOT send me an article using non-canon sources and expect me to use it.

The following are considered canon material for the North American info.

The following are considered canon material for the UK info.

The following cartoons are considered canon material for the Japanese info:

Other sources may also be cited (ie. Return of Convoy comic, OVA releases), but it remains the discretion of the maintainer whether or not to allow it. Sources that contain alternate or parallel timelines that do not affect the "mainstream" timeline will not generally be accepted.

I will not accept the following sources.
