Deep inside every person is a place that belongs just to them. Some may venture to this inner place often, others hardly at all yet no matter how often the visits, this place will always exist. It's a place where dreams are born and imagination runs rampant. It's where our minds wander when we're asleep and where our heart's desires are hidden. And, just like the individual, each inner world is unique and different.
For me, I always knew that place was there yet it was always a place of mystery, it didn't have a name. The word, "Valadonia" wasn't even associated with this place at first. After all, it was just the name I had come up with for a fantasy world I had created for a story I dreamed of writing one day. But now, I realize that Valadonia is my own inner world. My own hidden spot where I may venture when the real world around me is not enough. It's the place I may escape, my individual sanctuary. It's where my inner child is still a child and the confines, the rules, and the regulations of the real world have no part. It's the part of me that believes. It is my inner magique.
I first started creating webpages in 1996 when I was still in high school. My first attempts were pretty rough and pathetic, if I do say so myself, but I never gave up trying. All you see here I have learned to do myself with absolutely no HTML classes or graphic classes. Not trying to toot my own horn or anything, just want to get across the point that the human mind is capable of learning and taking in so much, and it doesn't always have to come from a professional, so if you want to make graphics or webpages, go for it! If you have a question or three I'd be more than happy to help.
Something over the years I've become very involved with are website competitions. In the beginning I was a simple fighter with The Sites Fights on a team known as the Darksbane Dragons. As far as I've seen, this has been one of the most successful and long-lasting webcompetitions out there. However, when my team moved from there to be part of a new competition, The Site Wars, I left TSF for my new home. Here I became much more involved and joined the staff. Moving from Assistant Scroll Keeper, to Scroll Keeper, to head of the Star Scrolls, I loved it all. Then, in 2001 the competition had a big split with many of its teams, which went to form The Wizard's Quest. I stayed on with TSW, but we were very small then, just four teams, and struggling hard to stay afloat. We tried to revitalize ourselves by creating a new look and name, becoming Journeys of Enchantment. Sadly, though, our leaders were unable to give the time they once could and we all voted to close our doors at last in 2002.
It may have looked like the end for my competition days, and I admit I was feeling burnt out. But then, I got an idea for a team that could be very popular. So, a friend and I from TSW/JOE got together and we created the Comic-Cazees, a comic/anime/manga/cartoon themed team. It was a little hard deciding what competition to join, but then my friend heard from an old friend of ours (from before the TSW split) that a new competition was being born. We decided to join their cause and are now proudly one of the founding teams of The Mystik Brews! I am known as Belldandy, co-leader of the Comic-Cazees.
