Jumpin' Choya! It's Arizona!

We were very tired once we got to Arizona. We were very sick of being on the road! So we were glad to get to Ian's Grandma and Grandpa's trailer in Tucson. Tucson is surrounded by desert and mountains. It's sunny there more than 300 days of the year. It's beautiful!

The next morning was Christmas Eve. We all went to Saguaro National Park, which is a park you can drive through. It is full of many different kinds of cacti. I was really hoping I would find a real spider just like me there.

I decided to get out of the car and look for spiders on my own. Here I am under a Joshua Tree.

But no spiders! Here I am looking for spiders amongst the Hedgehog Cactus.

But no spiders! (Sigh.)

So we headed back to the trailer to celebrate Christmas Eve. We opened Christmas presents and had a good time.

The next day was Christmas, so we spent it with family. We did go for a drive and the see the University of Arizona. They have a huge stadium!

On December 26 we all drove to Nogales, Mexico. We were all excited to visit another country. We parked our car and walked across the border. Here is a picture of me, Carrie and Heather getting ready to cross the US/Mexican border.

There were vendors everywhere, selling things like garden decorations, ceramics, and Cuban cigars. There were so many things to see there! It was very cold, too. We wore our winter coats and gloves. When we left we decided we were very lucky to be Americans. Even being an American spider has its privileges.

On our last day in Arizona, December 27, we went to Colossal Cave.

There were tall cactuses there, many of them hundreds of years old. The area was very hilly, too. And we didn't need to wear our coats in the cave, since its temperature is in the 70's all year round!

With the help of our tour guide, Ashton, we saw many sights within the cave. Some of these included geological formations that looked like witches and Elvis. One looked like Big Bird running into a wall! Ashton said that usually there are bats in the cave, but they were all gone at the moment. I didn't see any spiders, either.

After our cave tour, we went home to prepare to leave the next, back to new Mexico!
