The Adventures of Blimpie: Missouri - The Show Me State

My friend Ian drove us along Interstate 44 into Missouri. From my spot in the back window, I watched as we crossed the Mississippi River. The Mississippi forms the border between Illinois and Missouri. Ian says that the bridge that crosses it, the Poplar Street Bridge, is about a mile across!

Then we drove into St. Louis, Missouri, where there is a huge metal thing called The Arch. People wait for rides all the way to the top, and Carrie says that when it's windy the top sways back and forth! No, thanks, I thought. I'll keep my eight legs on the ground.

I looked everywhere for a spider just like me. But I didn't see one in St. Louis!

Did you know...

That St. Louis has the nickname "The Gateway to the West"?

It didn't take very long to get all the way through Missouri - it was only about four hours or so. We stopped at rest areas and gas stations along the way to stretch our legs - all of our legs! My friends took turns driving and soon we were close to a new state, Oklahoma.
