Texas: Cows, Crosses and Cadillacs

It finally stopped raining after we crossed the next state line, into a new state - Texas! Oh no! The weatherman says there's another storm coming! Behind us, the people in Oklahoma are getting freezing rain and snow . We just missed it. This new storm may also bring snow .

The trees in Texas were weighed down with ice, they looked beautiful and sparkly. We stopped in Amarillo to get gas and stretch our legs. It was snowing ! Here is a picture of me sitting on the roof of our car at a gas station in Amarillo, Texas.

I still hadn't seen any spiders that looked like me! But I did see the strangest thing - a bunch of big cars with their noses in the ground and their back ends up in the air! It looked like the cars had been buried. I thought there had been an accident, but Heather laughed and said, no, that's a Cadillac graveyard.

Out of the back window I also saw the biggest cross I had ever seen. I could see it for miles before we passed it. It was made out of white metal, like the shed my uncle Rachy lives in. Ian says that's called corrugated tin.

Every once in a while we would pass a cow farm. That's what it looked like, anyway. The cows were eventually going to be made into hamburgers, steaks and other meats. They sure were stinky! I decided that Texas had too many cows, and not enough spiders. I was glad my friends decided to keep heading west into New Mexico...
