Title: Right There (2/3)
Disclaimer: Not mine.  "Right There" belongs to Bryan Adams

***Jericho's POV***

It's over.

The whole ceremony, the tension, the trying to remember the vows, it’s over.  We got through it and now Hunter and I are man and…uhm…man.  The linguistics aren’t important, all that matters is that I'm his and he;s mine.  Forever.

The word has a nice ring to it.  I've spent my whole life knowing that things would never be forever.  My dad's hockey career, my wrestling career…in some cases, I've stayed alive only because things like high school weren't forevwer.  But this is different.  Forever is a good thing with Hunter, it means that he can’t leave me.  Not that I ever thought he would, it's just nice to know…

The clinking of a fork on a glass breaks my concentration and gets the attention of the crowd.  "I'd like to propose a toast," my father says, rising from his seat.  "When my son asked me to accompany him down the aisle at his wedding, I asked him who the lucky lady was.  He laughed quietly and showed me a picture of this bride to be."  My father glanced over at Hunter.  "I must say Chris, she's certainly got her own look."  The guests laughed as Hunter tried to decide whether to snort with laughter or blush quietly.  My father continued on.  "In all seriousnes, while I was a bit shocked to learn of who my son chose to love, I'm glad to see he's found someone who makes him happy."   The guests applauded as Hunter and my father smiled at each other.  How cute.

Now it's Joanie;s turn, and I could see Hunter cringe.  Joanie looked at the assembled guests and smirked.  "I'd like you all to know that getting these two together was totally my job."  Then, she looked at us, and her smile softened.  "Everything else these two did for themselves."  Now I could feel myself blushing.

And then, after that, all the guests were banging their silverware against their glasses, and Hunter reached over and trapped my lips in his and damn if we didn't give them all a show with our kiss.  Never let it be said that our wedding guests weren't entertained.

After that came the food.  And goodness if there wasn't a lot of food.  Chicken, beef…tamales…hey, why the hell do we have tamales?  I glanced over at Eddie, who sat at his table, digging into his tamale platter, and I swear that bastard grinned at me.  When this is all over, I'm gonna kick his ass.  Teach him to mess with the food t my wedding….

Oh God, what am I saying?  I sound like my mom, having a nervous breakdown because someone messed with my big ceremony.  Speaking of which, my mom had installed herself as DJ for the night and as we all finish eating, she picked up the microphone.  "Ok folks, now that you've stuffed yourself silly, it's time to work all those calories off on the dance floor!"  I glance over at my father, who made a gesture to indicate that my mom had drank just a bit too much.  This is all I need, my mom drunk and holding a microphone.  And she's still talking.  "But before we do that, the newlyweds need to have their first dance!"

Soft piano music starts and I glance over at Hunter.  He smiles and whispers to me "How're we gonna work this?"  I grin back at him, offering him my hand so he can get to his feet.  With him leaning heavily on me, we get to the center of the dance floor and I put my arms around me, letting him lean on me so that the weight is off his injured leg.

I swear to you, I will always be there for you
There's nothing I won't do
I promise you, all my life I will live for you
We will make it through

We had considered so many songs for our dance at our wedding.  We thought about "For The First Time", the first song we ever danced to, we thought about "I Turn To You" which was our song for awhile, but we heard this song one day and we knew it had to be it.

Forever we will be
Together, you and me
Oh and when I hold ya, nothin' can compare
With all of my heart ya know I'll always be
Right there

The song was everything we wanted to say.  We had promised each other that we would forever support the other.  That was what we wanted this dance to show, that we'd always be together

I believe in us, nothin' else could ever mean so much
You're the one I trust
Our time has come, we're not two people now
 We are one
Yeah you're second to none

I could feel Hunter's arms tighten around me, and I squeezed back.  Trust.  If I could use one word to describe our relationship, it would be that.  All of our problems had been about lack of trust, all of our triumphs had involved learning to trust each other.  Now, we were joining together in what I hoped would really show our trust for one another.

Forever we will be
Together, a family
The more I get to know ya, nothin' can compare
With all of my heart ya know I'll always be
Right there

I never expected to fall in love with Hunter, but that first night, he swept me off my feet and I just kept falling harder and harder since that day.  I know he feels the same, he tells me so when we’re half-asleep at night or while he's dreaming.    It's the most wonderful feeling ever, to know that you're a part of another person, that they’ve let you in where few are allowed.

Forever we will be
Together, just you and me
The more I get to know ya, the more I really care
With all of my heart ya know I'll always be...
Ya know I really love ya, nothin' can compare
For all of my life ya know I'll always be
Right there

I can feel Hunter's shoulders shaking under my arms and I realize that tears are running down my own face.  We stand there for a moment after the song has ended, just rocking back and forth.  After awhile, we walk back to our table and sit there, facing each other.  "I love you," Hunter finally whispers.

"Love you too."  I lean over and kiss his lips, then take his hand in my own.  We watch our friends dance and have fun, and gradually, their numbers start to thin out.  We kiss Joanie and our parents goodbye, then head back to the hotel room for our wedding night.
