"Well, Mr. Callaway, you seem to have made a very good recovery from your
car accident.  As long as you avoid being dropped on your head," here the
doctor grinned as I rolled my eyes, "you should be fine to go back to
wrestling."

I tried to keep my composure, but couldn't hold back a slightly goofy smile.
Finally, an end to the utter boredom of sitting around my house, waiting for
something to do.  After some last warning, I was allowed to leave the
doctor's office and go home.

When I walked in the door, Dennis looked up from his newspaper.  "What's the
news?"

Again, I grinned.  "All clear."

Dennis jumped up  to hug me.  "That's great, Mark!  You tell McMahon yet?"

I shook my head, and together we went to the phone.  I dialed.  "Hello, can
I speak to Vince McMahon....this is Mark Callaway, do I need to eat your
soul little girl?  That's what I thought.  Yeah, I'll hold.....Vince!  Yeah,
it's me.  I got medical clearance to come back...yeah...next week
works....well I'd assume he is."  I covered the mouthpiece of the phone.
"Dennis, you're coming back with me, right?"   Dennis paled, but he seemed
to force himself to nod.  I kicked myself for forgetting about that, about
what was waiting for Dennis back at work.  "Vince, I...we need to talk
sometime soon."

As I hung up the phone, Dennis tucked himself further into my arms.  "I'm
sorry."

"Don't be."  I held him tightly.  "I won't let them touch you again."

"I know."  Dennis sniffled a bit.  "Doesn't really help."

I pulled him so that we were both sitting on the couch.  "Do you want to go
back?"

"Yeah..."  Dennis sighed.  "I just don't want to have to see them...Hunter
and Stephanie...I know it sounds really stupid, because I have to face them
sometime...."

I have spent the last few months trying to solve problems that came up like
a rational adult, because that's what Dennis wanted and needed.  Now, I
think there needs to be a return to the old way of doing things.  "Denny?
Did you tell my brother about what happened?"

He looked up at me slowly.  "He knows Hunter attacked me.  Not the...other
part."

I nodded.  "That's good.  I need his help with something..."

Dennis cut me off before I could say anything else.  "I don't want to know,
Mark.  Not till whatever's going on is over."  He walked away, leaving me to
start making phone calls.

I settle myself into a chair in Shane McMahon's office.  "Boy, we need to
have a chat."

Shane stares at me from the other side of his desk.  I told him over the
phone that I had a plan to increase his power in the WWF.  Now he's all
ears.  "So, let's chat."

I leaned back.  I was pretty proud of myself for coming up with this one.
"You remember, back in July of '99?  When your mom and Stephanie made Austin
the CEO and that really pissed off you and your daddy?"  Shane nodded,
indicating that I should continue.  "So you put up a briefcase with all the
WWF stock in it, and had a ladder match for it."

Shane leaned his elbows on the desk.  "I don't quite get the point of this
history lesson."

I grinned.  "You and your dad got that briefcase.  That's 50% of the stock
for you, 50% for him."

He was beginning to catch on.  "So what you're saying is..."

"What I'm saying is that you can take your ass out there and take away her
power because it's yours."

I stood up and was going to walk away when Shane grabbed my arm.
"Mark...why are you doing this?"

I turned back to look at him.  "Because Stephanie's done some things that
even this can't really make up for."

He paused.  "No, seriously.  What do you want in return?"

I thought for a moment.  "One of your top guys is gonna get his ass beat
tonight.  Try not to get too pissed."  I left the office.

Me and Dennis sat next to each other on a bench in the locker room, watching
Stephanie bawl her eyes out.  "But...but....you can't DO this to me!" she
whined.

"I can do whatever the hell I want," Shane responded, in the closest thing
he could get to a growl.

We watched the argument proceed, even laughing a few times as security
guards ended up escorting Stephanie from the building.  The girl was
devastated...Shane had been more brutal then I imagined.  Stephanie was
currently banned from all WWF events.  I couldn't be happier.

We continued to watch, until Dennis wondered out loud why Hunter hadn't come
to assist Stephanie.  I kissed him and asked him to hitch a ride with
Bradshaw back to the hotel so I could clear up some unfinished business.

After almost everyone had cleared out after the show, I wandered into the
boiler room, smiling as I remembered my match with Mick in here.  I think
what I'm about to do will be more fun.

Kane  stood there, over a handcuffed to the wall, duct-taped Hunter.  "He's
real fun to watch, keeps squirming like a fish out of water," my brother
remarked.

I laughed.  Hunter did look real funny, flopping around, his eyes wide over
the gray tape covering his mouth.  I ripped it off in a quick motion.  "So
Hunter, how do you like being tied up?  Defenseless?"

"I don't know what..."  Hunter's words were cut off by my fist slamming into
his stomach.

Kane looked at the two of us and grinned.  "I'm gonna be going now.  Have
fun, Mark."

I hit Hunter again.  "How do you like someone kicking your ass while you lay
there helpless?"  Another blow, this one to his face.  I could see a tiny
trickle of blood start from his lip.  "Kinda like what you and your bitch
did to Dennis."

He took a deep breath.  "Oh come on Mark, we were...."

I hit him in the face again, silencing him.  "You were just what?  Violating
him?  Raping him?  I don't want your fucking excuses, Hunter."  Part of me
wanted to unlock Hunter, make this a more fair fight, but a bigger side
wanted me to let Hunter keep feeling as helpless as he had made Dennis feel.
"Too bad that I'm too much a gentleman to hit Stephanie.  I took away her
control in the WWF though."

Hunter's eyes got wide.  "You did what?"

I smiled.  "She lost her control.  Looks like you won't be screwing your way
to the belt anymore, Hunter."  I kicked him between his legs and he howled
in pain.  "Yup, won't be needing that equipment anymore."

Hunter was beginning to beg.  "Mark, stop, look, I'm sorry, it was
Stephanie's idea...."

"Oh was it now?"  He nodded fervently.  I kicked him in the balls again,
harder this time.  "You told me yourself you held him down.  Can't get away
with blaming this all on your bitch."  Another punch to his head and I could
see his eyes starting to glaze over.  "You ever fuck with Denny again, I'll
kill your ass.  That is not a threat, I'm not just trying to sound tough, I
will kill you."  One last blow and he was out cold.

I walked away, rubbing my knuckles.  I picked up my duffel bag and rustled
though it to find my cell phone.  I dialed the hotel.  "Denny?  Hey baby,
how bout you run us a bath?  I'll be home soon.....yes you heard me
right.....why?  Cuz I thought it would be nice, that's why.  What is this, I
can't be nice to you?....ok ok, sure, you can add bubbles, but don't expect
me to like it...."
