History

The current history of tuq H'aaWK starts with events that brought the Federation Starship, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C through a rift in the space-time continuum. There they met up with U.S.S. Enterprise NCC- 1701-D in the year 2367. Because of this event, an alternate timeline was created, where the Federation was engaged in a losing war against the Empire. The Captain of the Enterprise-D realized that the other Enterprise must return to its proper place in time, and helped Enterprise-C to prepare for its journey back through the rift. At this time, three Klingon battleships appeared and attacked both starships. Enterprise-D positioned itself in front of Enterprise-C and was able to destroy one of the Klingon ships but was itself quickly destroyed by the onslaught of the other two ships. As Enterprise-C entered the rift, one the Klingon battleships, the Imperial Klingon Vessel Emperor's Hand, commanded by Captain Klaa sutai- H'aaWK, followed her in and found herself engaged in a battle against three Romulan Warbirds. The Enterprise-C was eventually destroyed , but the Warbirds were not able to defeat the Emperor's Hand.

With all the confusion, Captain Klaa pulled back and reported in to the Military High Command. In this timeline, there was no Emperor's Hand registered with the Fleet, so his subspace transmission was ignored. Captain Klaa took his ship and found himself a port in which to land. It was a small planet known as DaK'vr located in the frontier. Since there were only a few thousand Klingon colonists on this planet, Captain Klaa was able to take control and establish himself as leader of the colonists. He eventually came to be known as Warlord H'aaWK. From this base, Warlord H'aaWK engaged in many battles with the Romulan Star Empire. Many successful raiding missions were launched within this sector. The Emperor's Hand had become a ship feared by all!

Warlord H'aaWk sent his fifteen year old son, Khatal (who was a crew member of the Emperor's Hand when lost in this timeline) to the Klingon Homeworld to see if he could determine what had happened. Khatal discovered that his father's House and property did not exist. He was befriended by Ro'dan, son of Nogra (a friend of the House of Mogh who later adopts Worf's brother, Kurn). Khatal worked for Ro'dan and brought much honor to the House of Nogra. On Khatal's seventeenth birthday, Ro'dan sent him to the Klingon Military School. Upon graduation, Khatal (now twenty-one years old) received the rank of Sergeant in the Klingon Defense Force and was stationed in sector 001, Sol System, on planet Terra. He was given the post of Diplomatic Liaison officer by the Klingon Ambassador, Lady K'Zin, to Earth.

In the years since the conquests of Klaa H'aaWK, the frontier had become virtually a H'aaWK domain. Klaa's premature death in the year 2388 provoked a series of wars amongst his generals for control of his empire. Klaa's young science officer, K'rrn, who was also a good friend of Khatal, sent word to the son that his father was killed by a Romulan assassin and that a battle was being waged by his generals over who would take control. Khatal returned to his father's planet and personally beheaded the traitorous generals. He took control of his father's empire and declared that he would avenge his father's death. By that time, tuq H'aaWK had a small fleet of captured Romulan Warbirds. Khatal launched successful raids against Romulan territory and was able to capture the colony known as Decius.

Khatal's private fleet, H'aaWK's Raiders, preyed on all merchant vessels who happened across this region. Their presence eventually inflicted a severe blow to Romulan commerce and severely crippled their economy. The Romulan government, embarrassed by their weakness, did not allow the Federation nor the Klingon Empire to know of this calamity. In time, the Romulans were forced to find other avenues around H'aaWK space to move their merchant fleet.

Mission Statement

An honorable tlhIngan major tuq, House H'aaWK has always been faithful and loyal to the Empire (in the alternate timeline) with a sense of tradition of devotion to duty, self-sacrifice, versatility, dependability, and honor. Throughout the early history of the Empire, a H'aaWK would always be there to fight and die for the preservation of the race.

House Motto

"Hell or Plunder, Klingons March!"

The history of the motto goes back to the year A.D. 1434, when the second Emperor, B'Kal, sent the Fifth Battle Group, led by Fleet Commander, Grand Admiral Thar'lak Epetai-H'aaWK, on a mission to find the *HerQ homeworld, destroy them and retrieve the stolen Sword of Kahless. Grand Admiral Thar'lak cried out, "Hell or Plunder, Klingons March!", which became the battle cry for the fleet, and later, the motto for the House of H'aaWK. The fleet remains unheard from till this day.

In the Battle of T'Ongpey (Led by Emperor Sompek and ten thousand warriors), Brigadier Kal H'aaWK used the same battle cry as his troops stormed the city of T'Ongpey.

*HerQ= The HerQ were an alien race, believed to be from the Gamma Quadrant, that conquered the Klingon world early in Klingon history. The Klingons eventually were able to force out the HerQ but they left with the sacred Sword of Kahless. The Klingons gained technology from the HerQ that allowed them space travel.
