What, you're surprized that Red Sonja even knows HOW to read? =) Well I do more to occupy myself than go around killing evil witches and overly-familiar men. Have a look!

Rather than a long, boring list of books I own at the moment (not many since an interstate move in early 1997) I will make this a list of What I'm Reading at the Moment.

September 19, 1998

Been offline for awhile, moved TWO TIMES in two weeks. And been trying to recover and unpack for a month after that. But I HAVE made time to read some. I re-read the Queen's Own trilogy by Mercedes Lackey, one of my favorite series. Read, for the first time ever, The Oathbound and The Oathbreakers also by ML. Read Mirror of Destiny by Andre Norton for the first time. Read Millenium and Titan by John Varley, also first time reads. Started on the Dragon Star trilogy by Melanie Rawn then realized it is a continuation of an earlier trilogy and put it on hold until I can get the first three and read them. Hmmm, what else? I am almost finished with The White Gryphon by Mercedes Lackey, first time read, I have read The Black Gryphon and The Silver Gryphon already (and actually have an autographed copy of The Silver Gryphon from Dragon*Con 1997.) (/brag mode) =] OH! Read the complete "Foreigner" trilogy by CJ Cherryh, which includes Foreigner,Invader, and Inheritor. Definitely up to par with Ms. Cherryh's usual wonderful stuff. =] And that is about that, for now.

July 30th

I don't even remember everything I've read since the last update. =[ Bad Sonja, bad! =[ Right now I'm re-reading Star Rangers by Andre Norton. My memory is so bad, I thought I'd never read it before, but when I started it I realized I had. I do remember that I have read The Key of the Keplian, a Witch World collaboration with Andre Norton and someone else, this month. Re-read Sargasso of Space also by Andre Norton, again, and Elvenblood by Norton and Mercedes Lackey. And even though there has to be at least a dozen others, I can't think of what they might be...... sigh!

Hey, I got back here in less than a month! =0

Been reading some Andre Norton novels for first-time ever reads. Read Star Guard, which is now one of my faves by her! Read Eye of the Monster which I liked but could wish it was about another 200 pages long (don't stop now!!) =) Am re-reading The Book of Andre Norton and debating adding a list of her "recommended reading" from On Writing Fantasy as an amendment to my Norton Bibliography page. Just finished reading David Starr, Space Ranger by Asimov for the first time a few days ago, cute juvie novel. Started reading Lucky Starr and the Big Sun of Mercury too, should finish it tonight...

And that has us up to date, folx! =)

May 1, 1998

Okay, so this is getting to only be a once-a-month update. So sue me. =) I read the omnibus edition of Christopher Stasheff's The Warlock in Spite of Himself which includes the first three novels of that series, fun re-read! I read Masterharper of Pern, and it was wonderful of course, no less than I expected. =) Also just finished Heavy Time by C.J. Cherryh, which I could hardly put down until I finished it! Now I am re-reading Starship Troopers by Heinlein finally, just got another copy of it this week.

April 1, 1998

Happy April Fool's! =) I finished Owlflight and am now eagerly reading Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time. I have long wanted to read it, and finally found it used at a thriftstore. =) And, I am on the waiting list for The Masterharper of Pern by Anne McCaffrey at the local library, it was due to be returned yesterday so I'm eagerly awaiting that, to say the least! =)

March 28, 1998

Finished Friday, by Heinlein. Read The Man Who Listens to Horses by Monty Roberts. Am now 3/4 finished with Owlflight by Mercedes Lackey & Larry Dixon.

March 11, 1998

Boy, am I ever behind on updating here. =(

Okay, let's see. I read Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan soon after I finished Lord of Chaos . Then I read The Deed of Paksennarion by Elizabeth Moon who has been kind enough to correspond with me via email. Then I got on a big Heinlein re-read kick and started with Farmer in the Sky then went on to The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Then Double Star and Methusaleh's Children. Checked out To Sail Beyond the Sunset from the library, then bought a used paperback of it (woooohooo, I got Heinlein in the bookshelves again! =). Now I am well into Friday. Oh yeah and I just finished 3001: The Final Odyssey (only it seemed to me to leave room for another Odyssey or two there at the end!) by Arthur C. Clarke (who else??)

So that is where I am as of tonight. Next, who knows. Maybe more Heinlein! +)

January 18, 1998

I know it's hard to believe but I just today finished Lord of Chaos, god, it never took me so long to finish a book before we had our son! Oh yeah and before we were online too, that cuts into the reading time really bad too.....
