The Atlantis Sea Colony got its roots in the early 90's. When its creator,Brendon Traxler. designed the A.S.C.1. Although A.S.C. has gone through many physical changes, the idea behind it has stayed the same throughout. That idea is a place for people to come and live or visit and to experience the real final frontier. Set in a couple hundred feet below the sea in the mid Atlantic, this continental shelf sitting habitat will prove that man can live underwater for an indefinite time without massive topside support. The only topside support will possibly be from an island where all power and oxygen will be pumped, or from an oxygen/ electricity generatorwhich is in the works. This would cause topside support to be limited to only communications. Tentavley A.S.C.1 will be fully operational by the year 2020, with the main A.S.C. complex to be completed soon after. A utopia under the sea.
The basic idea came from a desire to find the lost continent of Atlantis. Thus the reason for the name. Also the location to be in the mid-Atlantic, where Atlantis is believed to be. When you come to A.S.C. you will be able to view the sea in its natural environment. After setting the foundation for an underwater colony, you will be able to purchase the rights to have your own home built underwater off of the main complex.
Not only is A.S.C. venturing into the underwater habitat relm but also into the design and development of new mini-subs and other submersibles. The designs originate from nature. In the works right now is a Shark shaped mini-sub and a Manta Ray mini-sub. Also a shuttle to transport the inhabitants of A.S.C. is currently be designed.
