LT (jg) GEORGE BOGLER

George was born & raised on Earth. His Mother a ceramic artist, and his Father a professional golfer. He graduated from the University of Earth At Salt Lake City with degrees in Computer Technology and Organizational Studies. After graduation, having been passed over for several jobs, he decided to seek some adventure. His roommate, Rick, convinced him to go back to Rick's home planet of Beta Antares IV, where they both joined the Antaran Space Defense Service. There George learned piloting, weaponry, and Fizzbin. He declined a promotion to Lt. Cmdr to accept a lucrative offer with the Daystrom Institute, where he advanced to the position of Senior Field Consultant.

As part of a Star Fleet experiment, George had been aboard the Kelly for almost 2 years in an experimental program to study the feasibility of performing major computer upgrade & repair in the field so as to avoid down time for the ship in space dock. While on-board he fell in love with Lt. (jg) Jill Hiatt of Engineering, and they were married.

Later, due to a series of unforeseen calamities which decimated the Kelly's Senior Officer corp, He took Star Fleet's Field Academy exam. His score qualified him for an Ensign's commission. Immediately upon accepting the commission (stardate 50081.9), Captain Hollinger asked Ensign Bogler to assume command of the Kelly's Engineering Department.

George requested, and received an indefinite leave of absence from the Daystrom Institute. Jill Bogler had previously been assigned as Chief of Tactical/Con & Acting Chief of Security. She is currently a Full Lieutenant.

Citations:
Award of Merit (2nd Class), for scoring 51% on the Academy Examination

One of the Kelly's newest recruits. Watch for him to move up fast.
Due to staffing needs he was transfered to the U.S.S. Retributor as Chief of Security. Before leaving he uploaded his personality to a holo matrix. We are experimenting with this as an "EEH" (Emergency Engineering Hologram".

The next two links talk about an artificial life form created on computer. The persona is that of a teenage Japanese Rock Star named Kyoto Date (pronounced dah-tay), who has released 2 cd's, conducts e-maill chats & interviews, and recieves an on-going string of marriage proposals. This level of artificial intelligence is the first beginnings of what would be required to match the "personality" levels of the computers in Star Trek, and eventually A-I's such as Data and the EMH program.
Kyoto Date I ..... Kyoto Date II

The Borg are here now! Prepare to be assimilated.
Please pass the PADD. Electronic book readers like Trek's PADDs
A chip in his shoulder A man is implanted with a computer chip in an experiment. Is that how the Borg got started?
