Bio:

My History with Athletics and Personal Training:  I have a long history in athletics.  I played five sports throughout my entire childhood and ended my career playing football for Dickinson College.  During these years I acquired my taste for personal training.  Some of my personal training mentors have made it big.  Keith Fischer, one of my College football coaches now works for the Philadelphia Eagles as a scout.  Dickinson College head trainer Julie Ramsey-Emrhein was a staff member for the Washington Redskins.  These people have taught me more about personal training, physiology, and anatomy, than I could ever learn in a classroom.  I bring the knowledge and techniques I have gained from these people to you. 

I have also gained much knowledge from working in a gym setting for over the past six years and have developed a well-rounded mastery of equipment, proper technique, and a plethora of lifts to perform.  I received my Personal Training Certification by the National Exercise Trainers Association (
NETA) on March 11, 2006.  Although I am new to the profession, I have experience designing programs and being mentored by Marion Maxwell, CPT and Jeff Book, CPT at the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission (HARC).  Both are highly regarded personal trainers.

Education:  I graduated from Dickinson College in May of 2005 with a B.A. in Policy Management.  Currently, I am pursuing my masters degree in Public Administration at the Pennsylvania State University.  It may seem odd to have an affinity for politics and training but I plan to combine the two areas I love and lobby for health and wellness reform in government.  Personal training is a passion of mine and I will continue to do this as long as I am physically and mentally able. 



Personal Training Beliefs:  I don't believe women should stick to machines and aerobics classes. Women need strength training with free weights as much as men. If you are afraid of the free weights, fear no more. I will have you lifting weights you never thought possible in a safe and fun way. You no longer need to feel intimidated by free weights or the gym scene.

I will take you further than you ever thought possible and you will reach goals you never thought were attainable! I take the greatest pleasure in seeing my clients reach and surpass their goals.  Every client is different and my approach is treated as such.  I design workout and nutritional programs on the basis of your goals and needs, not my preset beliefs.  I train to fit your goals.  You DO NOT train to fit mine.

Learning about fitness and nutrition is an ongoing process.  We are constantly bombarded with new studies, techniques, and diets.  It is my job to research these findings and present them to you in the most objective way possible.  In short, I am constantly seeking updated knowledge and I will never be content with knowing "just enough".

Training Locations:

HARC

In-home personal training in the Lancaster, York, and Harrisburg areas. You must have training equipment at your location. I do not bring equipment with me.

Penn State Harrisburg Gym- If you are not a Penn State alum, student, or faculty member there will be a small fee for training at the facility. 

Prices:

Prices CAN be negotiable+

Standard Rate for In-Gym Training:
HARC Fees:

·  Fee: Members; $40/hour; 5 sessions/$190; 8 sessions/$ 296

·  Non-Members; $50/hour; 5 sessions/$225; 8 sessions/$ 336

$30 per session at Penn State Harrisburg or in your Home.  Package deals are negotiable.  Call me to set up a plan.  I can do 30 minute or 1 hour sessions.

Weight Training and Nutritional Program Design (with free cardiovascular advice and Body Fat Analysis)- $12

You will also recieve a free consulting session with your program.
