Environmentally Protective Country Music

I have decided in my frustration over spending 10 hours on one small program and not being able to get the stupid thing to work because of one small bug which I just can't detect, that I would write "the cubicle column" where I get to rant. If you wish to never recieve anything like this again, please tell me so, and I will remove you from the list.

I've been listening to a lot of country music recently, don't ask why, and I have noticed in all of the 9-11 songs that all of the singers always make constant reference to the American Eagle which is always flying high. Now I find this particularly interesting. Why? Because most of the people who would listen to this music and buy into its message are hard core conservatives from the south. These hard core southerners usually support rabid republican representatives. These rabid republican representatives are extremely opposed to anything that protects the environment, because usually they have the oil and logging lobby's contributing generously to their campaigns. One such policy of environmental protection, the Endangered Species Act, was and still is virulently attacked by these rabid republicans. Yet, were it not for the ESA, the American Bald Eagle would be extinct today. So maybe I am the only one who finds it amusing that after the southerners elect representatives who would have caused this great bird to go extinct, they then write praises of the same bird into their songs. If you don't believe me, listen to Toby Kieth's "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue".

Just something to think about.

I hope that all ya'll are having a good summer.
