Shipshewana, Indiana

The last day of July, 1996, we arrived in Shipshewana, Indiana, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  One Amish area to another.

Shipshewana, home of the famous Shipshewana Flea Market and Auction, is a quiet little town (Except for Flea Market days), in the Northeast part of  Indiana, almost on the Michigan boarder

Was that Esther I saw driving an Amish buggy?

You Bet!

We came to Manage the 30 room Der Ruhe Blatz Motel.  It is a lovely motel in the heart of the Northern Indiana Amish area.  Click here for more information on the Northern Indiana Amish Country.

The people in this area are quite friendly.  Have made a lot of friends,   both Amish and "English" (non-Amish).

Shipshewana has many gift and craft shops, and some fine oak furniture.
