Philadelphia AIDS Walk 1996

Here are a few pictures that I took at the AIDS walk this year!!!

My friends and I had a great time....it is definitely worth the exhaustion in the end!!! I encourage everyone to do it, it is for a great cause!!

This picture is of a posting board where people who have lost a loved one can go and write down that person's name and also a message about them. Many people came to leave a name, by the end of the day all of these postings were full. It was great to see everyone honoring their loved ones in such a way.

This picture was taken as the walk got under way....it is just a shot that shows just a few of the many people who participated. Also, many people carried banners like this one to show what group they were walking with. For instance many organizations and stores marched in teams.

This last picture was also taken at the start of the walk. It shows one family who marched in memory of a loved one. A few of them carried this picture of him. It was really touching to see all of the families and friends who came out and walked in memory of the ones that they knew who had died of AIDS. Not only did this family carry a picture but many others did as well. Some even carried ballons, wore t-shirts and carried other types of banners with their loved one's name and picture on them.
