About Dr. Acharya Yogeesh

Dr. Acharya Yogeesh is both an experienced yogi and an experienced teacher. He has been entering deep Samadhi states since he was five years old, and has studied Oriental philosopy for twenty-seven years.

Since 1986, he has travelled world-wide, teaching Eastern philosphy, yoga, and meditation, and promoting non-violence.

Yogeesh Acharya has spent much time in philosophical and linguistic studies. Born in a Hindu Kshatriya family near Delhi, Dr. Yogeesh became a monk in 1970, at the age of fourteen. In addition to his Indian langauges (Sanskrit, Prakrit, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Gujrati and Bhojpuri), he is also fluent in English. He completed his Acharya and M.A. in Sanskrit and Philosophy. He has his Ph.D. in "the six substances of Jainism."

His approach to teaching is: "If you can change one person, you can change the whole nation." He belives in making the wisdom of Lord Mahavira, Lord Buddha, Lord Jesus and other yoga masters available to all, regardless of nationality, language, or creed.
