Music of the Shadowlands

Adam AgainMusic in its diverse forms, Bruce Cockburn
is a gift. When we use it to express
what it means
to have some hope left
The Choirin spite of all that is bad,Mark Heard
and say
"Yes, it's still goodT Bone Burnett
to be alive!" we somehow rise above
the everyday noise to a higher place.

Here are a few of my favourite Musicians:

Mark Heard,
The Seventy Sevens, The Choir, The Vigilantes of Love,
Victoria Williams, The Jayhawks, Bruce Cockburn, Adam Again,
Michael Knott,
The Lost Dogs, T Bone Burnett,
and many more...

I heard this song, it felt like it was written just for me. The joy and frustration I feel, just being me:

"Impressionistic dots converge and blur into a scene, Mosaics of our Being / And though molecular we're so much more than mere machines / Though we forget our origins. And I want you to understand and share this weight / And I want you to help me through the shades of gray / I want you, You and your love in my veins"

-- from "I Want You", by Mark Heard, album: Mosaic

I Miss You Mark...

I just want to say that Mark's music is a kind of spiritual food for me. I miss him like I've lost a friend, though we never knew each other. What is most dear to my heart, and the things I want a friend to know about me are found in his music, and so although I never knew him to say hello, I knew something real and true about him, and he knew something about me. If I had met him, I would have said something awkward like "I Like your music!", and I imagine him saying "Uh, I'm glad. Nice to meet you.". But what I want to say is on the tip of my tongue, and it won't come out. What I want to say can no longer be said, if ever there were any words for it. Where there are no words though, sometimes your true friends know what you meant to say. Please know, I wanted to tell you.
