• - Different people approaches or reacts to investment differently. For example, some are aggressive, some conservative. Hence different people have different Risk Profile.
• - The perception of Risk is also a function of, or dependent on Competency (Knowledge and Skills). It is risky for you and me to climb Mount Everest, but not so for professional mountain climbers.
• - Hence the higher the competency of a particular subject, the less risky it is to be involved in that activity. In the case of people still on the journey towards mastery of a certain subject or discipline, in our case, Investment using Unit Trusts, the concept of "Risk / Competency Profile" is used.
