Piano Concertos Nos. 8 K. 246; 23, K. 488; 24 K.491; 27 K. 595.
Recorded by Wilhelm Kempff, piano and the Bamburg and Berlin Symphony Orchestras directed by Ferdinand Leitner. Concertos 23 in A major and 24 in C minor breathe perfection from every note with a crystalline beauty rarely found in Mozart on disk. These performances received a rosette from the Penguin Guide. Concerto No. 8 in C major receives a cool, clean interpretation, No. 27 offers a lovely, poetic interpretation of a transcendant Mozart finally at peace as his life draws to a close.
