I've visited your site a number of times over the past couple of years. I traveled often to White Plains on business last year, and read about 10 or 12 Nero Wolfe novels during that time. It was a joy to be able to see many of the places and roads mentioned by Archie in the surroulnding areas! (I unfortunately didn't navigate some portions of Saw Mill River Parkway as expertly as Archie--but then they've apparently added a few more parkways to the area since Rex Stous's days). I wondered how/why Rex Stout mentioned the area so much until I read in the back of one of the novels that Mr. Stout lived in Brewster, NY, just down the road from Mount Kisco, where I stayed some of the time. Thanks for all the Nero Wolfe informarion you've provided me with over the past couple of years. Al |

I was especially happy to get the info re plans for additional A and E movies. I enjoyed TGS and am happy it remained true to the book and the characters. I was a little disappointed in the Stebb ns character, thought it was a little overdone and Stebbins was plainclothes not uniformed. Also agree with one of your readers that Durkin appeared a little too dimwitted. But the overall I was very happy with the movie's accuracy. I have read all of he Wolfe books over the years and am now rereading them. I am looking forward to additional movie productions. |

My only complaints were minor (i.e. the stairs seemed to be in the wrong place, Fritz didn't seem right and Fred Durkin was way too dimwitted). I certainly hope that A & E decides to makes more movies from some of Stout's best works. |

I recorded the movie and watched it a couple of times. I don't know about any of you but I spent alot of time just soaking in the surroundings. I would imagine a lot of us have a visual image in our heads of what Wolfe's house really looks like. Every time they moved from room to room I would be pausing the vcr so I could linger on a detail. The set seemed slightly different in lots of ways, but it was great seeing it. Quick notes 1. I thought the character who played Wolfe could be fatter (alltho gh he did a good job) 2.Hutton is no Archie, but I guess he could grow on me 3.Thanks A+E for bringing the Wolfe Man back! :) |
