HOW IS SHE TODAY
Some people have a problem with many that are around,
Who maybe blind or handicapped and wheelchair bound,
For some reason or another through a third person they speak,
When information or answers they need or wish to seek.

“How is she today? They say aloud as if she was not there,
Do they really think there are no brains under the hair?
They do have a tongue and brain and deep feelings too,
Being ignored is rude and thoughtless, I know, don’t you.

Can he manage those steep steps, can I help him in any way?
Why not ask him in the wheelchair, listen to what he has to say,
He is the one who knows even better, a friend cannot always tell
And think of the hurt and the heartache that in him could swell.

Stop and think and never ignore those who are different than you,
Speak to them like anyone else for they are normal people too,
It maybe fear or ignorance that courses this painful cruel attitude,
But if it were to happen to you, you would class these people rude.

Smile and say “Hello” talk and ask questions, they will not run away,
Nor will they bite if you some offer them help and they may even say
“Yes push me for awhile may arms are feeling tired” then compare
How much better for them and you than pretending they are not there
