STEAK AND KIDNEY PIES
In the store yesterday both stew beef and kidney were on sale,
So I thought it would be good to buy a lot and use never fail
Pastry and make a few steak and kidney pies for a rainy day,
Take my time, not rush, it still took all morning by the way.

The smell was so pleasing but we did not eat any at all,
But stacked them away in case a few visitors will call,
It’s good to have a store of things in the freezer you know,
So that anytime you are stuck for meal in there you can go.

I’ll make some nice mince pies next week on a cool day,
Also eat a lot of those for sure and store quite a few way,
They will keep if not found until friends from England come
And I know their appreciation with these will always be won,

Steak and kidney and mince pies roast and chops other things too,
Even if we can’t get out there is enough food to see us through
Many a storm as long as the power is not out for too long,
If so those wanting free goodies some and join the waiting throng.
