More poems about Lakes.

        THE LAKES LOOK GREY
The lakes look grey and dreary, affected by the clouds so low,
The sedge appears sad and weary, no more life does show.
The air is all heavy laden with rain you know must fall,
The only sound is the wind and the raven’s lonesome call.

The tamarack’s are now bright gold, a lovely sad sight to see,
Soon all their branches will be bare, still graceful as can be.
Most deciduous trees have lost their leaves blow off somewhere,
It seems the end of fall has come much too early this year.

The silver birch stand stark, like brave knights in days of old,
Scattered among the evergreens that also stand strong and bold,
Nature seems to hold her nreath waiting for the icy cold snow,
I smile and feel happy that I have a nice warm place to go.
