BOWED IN SUPPLICATION
After a freak snowstorm that in early October came
October the 13th will be remembered as a date of fame.
Damage was extensive but now the snow has all gone,
And it seems that to most things the storm was overcome.
The now golden tamarack seem to have suffered the most,
The heavy wet snow attacked them like a great cruel host
Wanting to destroy them all and force each tree to fall,
And it seems that some of the tamarack has a close call.
Still shining gold in their fall coats so cheery bright
And indeed to me at least, one of falls most pretty sight,
But now most of them are bowed in humble prayer,
Giving homage to their Father and for showing His care.
As if each head is bowed in supplication firm and true
Asked if they would make it the whole winter through,
That they would stand straight once more head heaven bound
I join in that mighty prayer hoping new strength will be found.
