Strange things happen in the night.

One night I was bored with nothing to do. So I gathered up my Nikon F4, tripod and cable release, and proceeded to walk outside to take some boring photos of the night. The breeze was blowing softly, ruffling my light T-shirt as I struggled with the heavy tripod I only use once a year. Then I saw this scene in front of me, and I knew I had to capture it. Why? Perhaps because of those waving trees at the corners of the picture, or maybe because I was only a few frames short of completing the roll, and this was an ideal excuse to waste them on, or perhaps it was purely and simply because of the beauty of the night. Whatever reasons I could think of, I took about 4 frames of this exact same scene, each lasting about 2 minutes long at an aperture of f/16. One of the pictures came out like this.

But the last one…. Came out like this.

Now what is this strange thing that appeared on the negative? As far as I rememeber, no light sources came into the picture when the shutter was open. What happened? Had I been momentarily abducted by aliens during the 2 minutes that the shutter was opened? Had they performed some sort of time warp thingy to return me to the same spot instantaneously? Is this picture the only evidence that it happened?

What do you think? Em-ail me with your possibilities. I repeat that this is not a hoax of any sort. Anybody who can help solve this mystery?
