Musandam Peninsula:
In January 2000, we took a short trip to the
Musandam Peninsula (about 8 hours from Muscat).
The first four hours, to Daba,
we drove about 240 miles. The last four,
we drove 65! The quality of the roads is
different,to say the least!

A trip in early March 2002 to Sanaw, on the edge of the Wahiba Sands. Great for people-watching, stocking up on camping equipment, buying fresh fish, goats or camels!
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat:
Completed in 2001, the Mosque is open to non-Muslims so we took advantage of the visiting hours to enjoy the lovely architecture and tile work.
