Mr. P. Samuel, my maternal grandfather. Photo taken probably in 1935. He was an elementary school teacher  who also served as a catechist at the local church. He passed away on 18th November 1937.

 

My paternal grandparents (Mr. Packianathan Joseph & Mrs. Selvam Mariamuthu Joseph) were both elementary school teachers in Tirunelveli District, India. Photo taken probably in 1947. They were more than 90 years old when they died in 1953. (February and July 1953)

 

My father, Asirvatham Joseph, married my mother, Thangam Rajammal, in Suviseshapuram, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu, India on 14th April 1937.

 

That's me as a 10-month old baby. This photo was taken in Ayer Tawar, Perak, Malaysia in December 1940.

 

Family photograph taken in 1947. I am on the extreme left. In the centre is my sister, Ruby, who now lives in the U.S. My older brother Sam is on the extreme right. In 1947, my father worked as an Estate Conductor (Rubber Plantation Supervisor) in Bilham Estate, Ayer Tawar, Malaysia. He passed away in Seremban in January 1979 at the age of 71.

I married Pushpa Rani Chelliah, a staff nurse, on 4th of September 1968, at the St. George's Cathedral, Madras. She is a blessing to me and the entire family.

I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, in June 1977. I was then 37 years old.

Our faithful mongrel, Caesar. He fought valiantly with a cobra and succumbed to its venomous bite in October 1994. He was then 11 years old. This photo was taken in 1986.

 

My two daughters learned Bharata Natyam for two years when they were in school. Second from left is Valentina Shanthi, and second from right is Aileen Malini. This photo was taken in Tapah after their Salangai Poojai in 1989.In the centre is Dr. Donald Jude Jayakumar, a family friend.

 

Guruji Dr. Paranjothi Mahan of Universal Peace Foundation, India. My wife and I were initiated by this spiritual master in Kuala Lumpur in February 1992. Photo taken in my house in Tapah, Malaysia, in March 1992.

My son Franklin married Hannah Rani Sundram at the Trinity Methodist Church in Petaling Jaya in December 2000.Franklin is a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Malaysian Navy, while Hannah works as a graduate teacher in a high school in Ayer Tawar, Perak, Malaysia.
