JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL BAND IN THE 1990'S  

1990-91

Hawkinsville Invitational Marching Festival Marching less than 30 performers, the band received a rating of III.
District Six Concert Festival Playing a Level 2 program, the band received a rating of III.





1991-92

Northwest Georgia Marching Festival The band received an overall rating of II while marching 65 performers, including 25 eighth graders.
District Six Concert Festival The band played a Level 3 program and received II-II-I, for an overall II.





1992-93

Hawkinsville Invitational Marching Festival The band earned superior ratings in a marching event for the first time in school history.
East Georgia Marching Championships For the first time in school history, all units of the band received superior ratings in a marching festival.
District Six Concert Festival Playing a Level 3 - 4 split program, the band again received II-II-I ratings.





1993-94

Superbowl of Sound Marching Competition Making it's first appearance in competition in four years, the band receives superior ratings and finishes fourth in Class AA.
Phenix Invitational Marching Competition The JHS band wins Best in Class honors over eight other bands in class A. This is the band's first Best in Class award.
District Six Concert Festival Playing a Level 3 - 4 split program, the band earns, for the first time in school history, straight superior ratings.





1994-95

Superbowl of Sound Marching Competition The band places second in Class AA.
East Georgia Marching Championships The JHS Band places second in Class AAA.
District Six Concert Festival The band performs a complete Level 4 program for the first time, earning ratings of I-I-II and an overall Superior rating.





1995-96

Phenix Invitational Marching Competition The band finishes second in Class AAA and fourth overall.
Okefenokee Sound of Gold Marching Championships The band wins Best in Class AAA and makes finals. In the finals, the band finishes third in the Gold Division. The 25 eighth graders from the 1990-91 band are now seniors.
District Six Concert Festival Playing a Level 4 program, the band earns a rating of I-I-I, with a sightreading rating of Superior as well.

The JHS Concert Band makes its debut, performing a Level 2 - 3 split program and earning an Excellent rating.






1996-97

Fort Mountain Invitational Marching Competition The Red Regiment wins Best in Class AA. The band ranks third overall, the first top three overall finish in the band's history.
Sandy Creek Invitational Tournament of Bands The band places second in Class AAA and is fourth overall.
Okefenokee Sound of Gold Marching Championships The band wins Best in Class AAA and makes finals. In the finals, the band finishes fourth in the Gold Division.
District Six Concert Festival Playing a Level 4 - 5 program for the first time, the Symphonic Band earns it's fourth consecutive Superior rating.

The Concert Band again earns Excellent ratings at festival.






1997-98

Sandy Creek Invitational Tournament of Bands The Red Regiment wins Best in Class AAA honors and places fourth overall.
Southern Invitational Music Festival The band ranks third in Class AA, third in the Silver Division, and sixth overall.
East Georgia Marching Championships The band wins Best in Class AAA and finishes third overall.
District Six Concert Festival The Symphonic Band is rated as Superior for the fifth consecutive year.

For the first time ever, the Concert Band earns straight Superior ratings at the district concert band festival.






1998-99

Mount Vernon Invitational Marching Competition All units of the the band, as well as the band overall, are rated as Superior. The JHS band finishes second in Class AA.
Southern Invitational Music Festival The band ranks second in Class AA and third in the Silver division, with second place rankings in music, marching, and overall effect.

London Parade Festival

The JHS Band performed in the London Parade festival in London, England. The band performed in concert at St. Paul’s Church, Hammersmith on December 30, 1998, and marched in the City of London’s Christmas Parade on January 1, 1999.
