Cedric

An elf by species and a High Mage by profession, Cedric Frozenstream is first encountered working as a hired hand to Lord Trefeln's armed forces, using his admittedly very fine magical abilities to help them secure victory over the opposing orcs in L'arynjita (the elvish word for the area formerly acting as home to Draklan and the rest of the Clan Pickaxe, literally translated as "Dubious Coast."). He is sanctimonious, condescending and thoroughly obnoxious, but by far his most revolting feature is that he is absolutely brilliant. Organised, intelligent and truly gifted in the use of magic, Cedric knows he's better than everybody else and is very keen that they should know it as well.

His capture by the orcs, along with that of Sir Rowan, comes as a result of a lack of vigilance on both their parts after they have been begrudgingly paired up to perform a reconaissance mission on the clan's hideout. They fall for a simple pit trap, merely because they're up against orcs and, as everybody knows, orcs are too stupid to understand how to set traps. Except, it seems, for these ones...

The design for the look of this character, and indeed some of his less savoury personality traits, was inspired by a friend of mine, something called Marios Richards. We shall have to put a photo up.
