Bear Hugged

Sumo wrestling is clearly the in thing on the Firste Worlde at the moment, and so it is that we find Mozgrog taking on another of Kazuma's characters, the big ol' sumo bruin KumaTaikai. Somewhat predictably, however, Mozgrog is having rather less success in this endeavour than Ogrokh did against Raijin (both of whom have forgotten their differences momentarily to shower innocent bystanders with half-eaten food); clearly, bear hugs are only effective if (a) you catch hold of the other bloke's arms and (b) your opponent isn't a bear.

It took quite a while to work out the composition of this one, and even longer to colour it, because I did everything by hand with pencils, like some sort of clot. (This includes the camera flashes in the background, an effect achieved by inking in the outlines, colouring round them and then going over the white spaces in white pencil.) But it definitely paid off – the background is a lot more interesting to look at this time round, and I think the picture as a whole has a greater sense of depth and movement. I’m going to need some more black pencils, though.
