Raijin Bull

Okay, I know it should really be a boxing match to justify the title, but I’ve been wanting to use that joke for ages.

Kazuma returns on astronomically tremendous form here, following up his Hulkified piccy of Ogrokh with this manga-esque materpiece. "Crikey!" doesn’t even begin to do it justice, does it?

Raijin should be familiar to all of you from his first tussle with Ogrokh. Clearly the burly bull wanted a rematch, and decided to take on Mr Glug (seen here in his Beer Monster guise) at his own game. It doesn’t look as though he’s doing a bad job, either; Ogrokh can take a wallop with the best of them, but he’s definitely going to feel this one tomorrow. Meanwhile, at ringside, we find Mozgrog and KumaTaikai doing a lot of overexcited shouting. As is traditional things probably got a bit more personal later on, which is doubtless what lead to this little incident. There are times when talking is emphatically not the best way to avoid a punch-up.

On the subject of talking, the words featured in the speech balloons were supplied by me; as a thoughtful courtesy to English-speaking readers, Kazuma left them blank so I could suggest some suitably overblown manga-translation things for them to say. (Except for Ogrokh, natch, who just says the kind of thing he always does in this sort of situation.) However! For that authentic manga experience, you might like to take a look at this. It won’t make any sense if you don’t know Japanese, but it’s so cool! Just like regular manga, in fact.

I’d never have imagined just how right the likes of Ogrokh and Mozgrog would look in a Japanese style. Funny, dramatic, sublimely-coloured...I can’t think of enough good things to say about this, frankly. But if you can come up with some, drop Kazuma a line and say them to him, because he deserves absolutely tons of praise. Oh, and don’t forget who Raijin and KumaTaikai are copyrighted to, or they’ll be round to duff you up.
